Here we are putting on a pretty face and acting all adorable for our new conference and you do this crap? Don't you realize we are like 2 ugly orphans trying to get adopted. A prospective set of parents finally show interest and the minute they stop by to visit, you crap your diaper and start swearing.
We are mumped.
Lawrence police said Friday that Jamal R. Greene, 22, and Vernon D. Brooks, 23, were arrested in connection with an attempted aggravated robbery.
Greene is a member of the University of Kansas Jayhawks football team. Brooks was dismissed from the team before the spring football practices for violating unspecified team rules, university officials said.
According to a news release, Lawrence police were dispatched to an off-campus apartment around 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street. Witnesses told police that two men armed with a handgun had entered the apartment and held several people inside the apartment at gunpoint.
No one was injured, police said. About 2:30 a.m., they said Brooks was taken into custody without incident. Greene, a defensive player for the Jayhawks, was arrested about 9 a.m. in the 2300 block of Murphy Drive, also without incident, police said.
The handgun was recovered, according to the news release.
Greene is a junior defensive tackle for the team. His hometown is Kansas City, Kan.
The investigation continues. The KU Athletic Department said Greene's status with the team would be determined after the facts were gathered.

Gill: Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Forgiveness is being prayed for as we speak.
-
Well the Rev. Gill is going to boot the other guy as well.
But if he doesn't, this is really going to have me worried. All we got so far is a freaking he said, she said fight in a dorm room.
Ben and/or other resident KU validators. Are either of these guys any good?? What is the Big 12 rule for transfers if they've been booted from other programs??
Thanks for your prompt responses.

Armed Robbery . . . this will have a profound impact on Fulmer Cup standings.
I want a day when I can look at the Fulmer Cup standings and see our own K-State at the top. Then I'll know we're back.
-
Suprised Gill wasn't holding the gun for safe keeping when the police arrived ala his alma mater

Doc Tom just didn't want to see anyone get hurt.

It is getting painfully obvious that we are going to be the pretty face/smart/ good at everything sibling at this conference foster home. I just hope they take our little sibling that starts fires and plays in the catbox with us.
-
My question (intelligence related). How does one that is roughly 6'4" 320 pound African American in Lawrence Kansas think he's going to hold up someone at gun point and waltz in and out like the wind? Hell even our moron TE could at least fit under the bed.
-
The "aggravated" part (pointing a gun at someone) makes that a "he's going to prison" type offense. Except maybe in Lawrence.

Yep.
Used to be a fun sign on the side of the KCMO buses. "One will get you a nickle."
That kid is fracked.
-
Kid got the boot . . . the easiest guys to boot are guys you didn't recruit. If he's a Gill recruit, he's got full air cover while they work out a deal with the ku alum Douglas County DA.
Sorry ku fans, not many wins coming this year.

"Greene, who played at Washington High, had been singled out by Jayhawks defensvie coordinator Carl Torbush during spring practice as a potential impact player. Green started eight games in 2008 and appeared in nine games last season."

That's not very Christian of Gill.
-
Assault is fine, cursing is not.
-
Hey, wasn't Brooks the guy who Ben was touting as the savior of the KU D?
