Title: What is so joyous about being NCAA deadmeat?
Post by: renocat on March 12, 2017, 02:03:55 PM
Making the tournament .... big whoop!  Oscar does not breed hope for magic.  I feel like a turkey before Thanksgiving.  A steer being loaded into the stock trailer going to the slaughter house.  I suppose the steer may thinks, "whee I get to leave this feelot for a nice ride".  I will foolish hope for tournament life, but deep down I no are deadmeat walking.

I enjoy making the tournament in any fashion. Play in is still better than the NIT. This isn't hard.

Not having any enjoyment of this only comes from hating oscar and I get that.

I know I'm in the minority but I'd prefer to make an NIT run than lose the play in.

I would have gone, yeah.

I'd rather be in the field, even the play in, than the NIT. Any day.

The people that would rather go to the NIT or nothing instead of the play in game are idiots. The NIT is for losers even if you do hate the head coach(I hate oscar). It's such a stupid way of thinking.

IF we can get past Wake, I think we will beat Cincy... In fact, I think the winner of the K-State v Wake contest gets past Cincy regardless.

Cincinnati is not very good imho having watched them play SMU twice. Plus, teams winning the "play in games" have been very dangerous since the field went to 68 as there seems to be a psychological edge to having already won a tourney game when the 5 or 6 seed is playing their first game

Same way LaSalle helped oscar #oscar us after the titletown season.

I think you're underselling SMU, they have elite eight potential. I also think Cincinnati is very tough.

Don't mean to undervalue the ponies at all. In fact, I have them in the elite eight in my bracket.  I just wasn't that impressed with Cincy.

To be fair, my thoughts about the winner of KSU/Wake getting past them is more a function of the momentum that comes w winning a play in game

A loss makes it easier to fire oscar. A win gets us into the tourney proper for a real game on Friday. I say it's a win-win, which means I can sit back and watch the Cats on Tuesday stress-free. I felt much the same way about the B12T games. :gocho:

I hope we win all the tourney games then fire oscar in the middle of the ceremony. Thanks but no thanks. Get out of here.
