I put this on for two reasons. I wanted to get it on the correct board and wanted to see if it magically changes to b.r.u.c.e

Jungle Book won an oscar but just as I predicted it was not for Character Arcs. I'm like a moving genius.

My wife watches these award shows, and they are without question the biggest circle-jerks on tv.

oscars are the only one I do. I DVR it and start it an hour and a half late so I can skip boring stuff. I just like to see who wins FSD!

Some are saying Viola Davis's acceptance speech was the best since three six mafia when they won for "it's hard out here for a pimp"

I like her and her passion a lot, but I can't disagree with this more strongly.

“I became an artist, and thank god I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life."

It points to the CJ that FSD alluded to

Apparently Jimmy Kimmel's jokes about people of colors name choices have not been received well.

The Oscars get oscared, inept weinerization.  Here comes the excuses, and try hard charts.  Warren Beatty's impression of a Weber I screws it up diatribe was priceless.

These are actors giving speeches. Sometimes they really give a speech from the heart and sometimes they are clearly playing a part of an actor giving a speech.

And yeah, I don't agree with that at all.

Why?  They got 7 out of 8 right, and they gave Moonlight a 1 in 6 chance of winning.  Seems like their numbers work pretty well!

it was kinda fun tbh.  not like "omg amazing landmark movie", but good escape.

i watched mulholland drive for the first time the next day and my brain has forever melded the two "plot" lines together

Yeah, I liked La La Land a lot more than I expected to. It wasn't the best movie I watched in 2016, but it sticks in your mind because you go into it expecting to be sleeping an hour in, and walk out smiling.
