That was actually pretty decent. Will Keep listening for sure.

It sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom.
Also "John" pretty much stole the show.
I could get behind a "Manhattan johns w John" podcast.
fix the damn acoustics, don't half ass this thing
can i patreon some miller lite pounders into the host's front yard?

I think I figured out how to use 2 mics, we will try that next time.
No MHS is a big knock against anyone's Townie credentials. "Steve" does have the new restaurant thing down, though, and more than enough overall Townie enthusiasm to be a good host.

Yeah. Im actually pretty familiar with all four people. Both of the hosts and both of the guests. By far, Steve knows the most people in mhk. He'll be great.

old lucky brew grille. when you sons of bitches started talking about that place it brought back some memories. jeff the bartender, bob the owner. DJamer palmer.
and no mhs, no townie. tell the steve guy that he's a wanna be.
also would like to see a legends of MHK segment each week where the hosts dig into a different mhk urban legend (non-fiction or fiction)
i mean, who's the townie here?
Rusty Wilson.
Venables
just talk about an interesting thing about mhk, could be a person (the fabulous sage), annual event (fake patty's day), or really anything that is sort of unique to mhk. like the johnny kaw statue, the KS letters, etc etc.
you guys are supposed to be mhk experts here, fill us in

been by it in the last five or six years?
Could do an episode of the origins of PCKK7DCC and interview the contestants and their strategies for conquering the challenge.
poor "evan" :frown:
I think an episode about life outside of MHK through the eyes of a townie would be interesting.
Also, is it weird how you drive north on the LHC Bill Snyder only to come into town on the east side and then the Main Street is an east west street? That always freaked me out.
I thought it was weird that Jake used the fake name "Steve" for this. Am I not supposed to reveal his real name?seems like a real topekian thing to do, imo

This reminded me of the Red Lobster discussion, and the hour long waits for O.G. when it opened:There was a similar issue on Bluemont when Popeyes opened too.

Absolutely. I wish they were better placed around the city. The 95th and Metcalf one is pretty out of the way for me, but I might get some on my way home tonight to enjoy with a cows w
Has anyone listened to the Patreon stuff? I don't even think I charged people for the episode, just a pledge of $1 for the future. Did anyone get charged? Not charged.

Did it make you provide a credit card or something to set up the account and agree to the $1/episode pay structure?
any XXX NSFW content for us this week?

Yes, we are waiting on our City Commission correspondent to come back from schedule conflicts.
You should get a bunch of the usual Townie naysayers who hate change, want MHK to continue to look like a "small town" and don't want any progress. The comments on the FB post about the Aggieville concepts are so typical.
While I don't care for some of the building design, I can't help but laugh at the people who prefer that the most visible corridor into campus continue to be lined with a bunch of old, decrepit slum lord houses, with noted exceptions. Gentrification in doses is good and is much needed along that route. Some day, okay, never, the "hate everything" townies will come to their senses and realize that K-State must continue to draw on people and money from all over the world and those people don't want to engage in an area that comes across like it gives no effs (in some regards), but will happily take tens of thousands of dollars of your money in the process. That's not the way the world works.
I think you were just looking at yourself in the rear view(https://m.popkey.co/2e18f2/VlgXG.gif)
I do recall first time I drove into MHK I thought "what a shithole."
It was that stretch between Sonic and Aggieville that I suppose any town has.

Every college town has some drag filled with the college slums (and not all of the homes/apartments on that stretch are slums). Anyway, the Bluemont Hotel increased the aesthetics on that quarter mile quite a bit, and I imagine as the town continues to grow, that stretch in particular will see some new development.

emo thinks all old houses smell bad regardless of condition
A couple thoughts while waiting anxiously for episode 4.
1. Seems like the door should be open for boss interim AD and local townie stud Laird Veatch to be a guest sometime.
2. Show needs a dedicated theme song of some sort. Something short and funny. Usually I am good at coming up with stuff like this but I was drawing a blank on material.
Podcast is fine, hosts' voices and laughs are kind of annoying.

Paging SkinnyBenny
Based on the hosts' voices, we should guess what they look like.
protip and I've been meaning to say this for a while but when you have the opening and Segway music on you should turn it down so you can hear wtf you guys are saying while its on
computer at work, it just needs to be dialed back a bit.

For: when you said "keep their noses clean" was it a normal figure of speech or a literal reference to COCAINE?
I have one question about Kurz and one
question for Kurz.
About: does he force that enormous and wise Goliath voice out of his tiny body? It's almost supernatural.
For: when you said "keep their noses clean" was it a normal figure of speech or a literal reference to COCAINE?
Did I miss John's townie quiz? I mean, that's kind of a big deal to me.
You didn't miss it. We let the dedicated listeners down on this one.

I wondered the same thing and was disappointed when the hosts "ben" and "steve" didn't follow up on it.

If you could ask them anything, what would you ask the hosts of the show?have them talk about how arrow has probably surpassed bluestem on local coffee houses and why crossfit is awesome
I assume you are on location based on the return of bomb shelter audio
I would like to ask for a cooking show where you recreate a special MHK dish and then consume it with sloppy mouth sounds and noises of satisfaction and pleasure
I think you should do a show where Steve makes strange drinks that KK and the special guests have to experience and give their opinions. Bonus....everyone gets to a 6 before the show is over.
who is "kk"?I think you should do a show where Steve makes strange drinks that KK and the special guests have to experience and give their opinions. Bonus....everyone gets to a 6 before the show is over.
I volunteer if all the drinks involve bourbon.
