Title: Barry-ly a pulse; ISU ADV

Its just comical at this point. All of it. One of the worst stretches of K-State basketball I've seen in years. Except, not really, because these halves of basketball have been happening at an alarming rate. In fact, we've seen a similar half in 5 of our last 7 games.

Of course, K-State managed to win one of those and make several respectable. That's just what oscar does.

Then he talks, and oh does oscar talk. He actually finished his radio spot with Stan by saying "If we weren't ready to play we played a good 2nd half competed outscored them." I'll leave it as a run on.

Even Stan at the end of the radio broadcast finally said "this is unacceptable for K-State basketball" when talking about the 1st half play.

I'll never forgive Stan for openly campaigning for oscar to keep his job two years ago after the last game of the season.

Hopefully that stunt got Stanton at least 1 year on scholarship

46.7 isn't that bad for isu.

he's gonna get fired. and brad is gonna put the icing on this turd cake, just like i predicted months ago. i know, bc even my g'ma said so as i helped her out of the handicapped stall and she said, "you know what would be more fun than this, pvegs? ice cream." and so we got ice cream.

I was too dismayed with how badly we got our assess kicked to notice we were unlucky and lost the lottery again.

can't remember a game that I was more bored at.  I think I clapped once when isu got called for an intentional foul.  No fist pumps, no excitement, no people, nothing.

I was hoping _fan would have been so disgusted that the stats grid would have been blank.

 1) It's pretty amazing what happens when you either make or miss jump shots. It was so clear which team could make them early on.  With 15:00 left, we were 2-13 on 3Pt, and 2-8 on 13-19 foot jumpers. 4 for freaking 21.  Very few of those were forced or highly contested shots. Just a lot of bricks. Isu on the other hand was 5-10 3pt and 5-8 on 13-19 footers.  They enjoyed a comfy 49-30 lead

2) it's also pretty amazing we come out flat with no energy and no desire AGAIN in the first 10-12 minutes of the 1st half.  This is more on Weber, but part of that is on the players. The team looked like Ksu FB a few years ago playing 11:00 games.

3)#33 Young had 5 OR with about 9-10 minutes left. He had 10 pts off of them (4-4 FG 2-2 FT). We just did an awful job of rotating down when the guy guarding him had to help and contest a layup/short shot.

4) Dean Sneed and Kam were about as lousy as can be in the 1st half.  Westicles was all over the DRs and I looked about mid 2nd half and Sneed had 0 DRs. Can't have that playing the 4.

We get the lead down to 7 after a big run. Then we go back into suck mode. Sneed cuts to the rim, has a wide open 2 footer under the goal and doesn't shoot. WTF. Then Kam has back to back TOs with 2 Nba showtime passes.  And Young gets 2 putback buckets off misses. Add in a Technical and the lead was back up to 16.

My God that's eerie, fwiw they finished with a murderers row and we're finishing with teams that look just like us. It's hard to believe that team had a NBA player on it.

the guys are used to playing 7pm starts on wednesdays, the 6pm start didn't do us any favors.  just came out an hour early and that led to our flat start.  it sucks but it is what it is, no reason to dwell on it.

Down 29-15 to start Tcu game at home
Down 33-15 to start Isu game at home
Just pathetic.
And after a great start vs Ku, they went on a 29-11 run in the 1st half.

It's no secret....if we play well on offense, our defensive numbers don't look as bad. We score 31 pts in 39 Possessions and we trail 49-31.  Then we put up 33 pts in 23 Possessions.  Iowa St doesn't get 28-30. No they get only 21 and 2 were freebie Pts from a Technical.

14 minutes of bad O to start today... 15 Pts 24 Poss.  Trail by 18
12 minutes of bad O to start TCU... 15 Pts 22 Poss. Trail by 14
Just bad, terribly bad for too long of a time frame.
The Ku game we shot 4-20 over 13 minute span in the 1st half.  All of this at home.  Can't happen.

I see sys' optimism, and I get some jinglewingies.thinking there is a pony in the turd pile.  We have played some very good basketball, we have good tater & meat players, we have good recruits coming in, but IMO this wild inconsistency is the killer. I would think good coaching solve this.  I listen to Shucker games sometimes, and Marshal benches a kid that won't do as he wants.

With just over 5:00 left, Wade DJamer and Sneed had 4 DR and Young for Isu had 5 ORs.  65 minutes combined from Ksu 4/5s to that point.  Dean actually had all 4, so he did an OK job.

Our 3 guys finished with 6 DRs (75 min). Young 8 ORs. 12 pts off of them.  That's a trouncing in the PH chart

I saw a stat that said oscar's win% at KSU is now lower than Woolridge's last 3 season's win%

Confirm?

Yeah. 1 guy did a good job on hitting the Defensive glass. ISU is a terrible OR team, only rebounding 23% of their misses. Our players guarding their 4/5 should be attacking the glass more. Just another illustration of us not playing hard.

Sneed isn't a 4. We just get to pretend like he is thanks to oscar. Our lack of post depth, I'll say it again, is Wooly-esque.
