indefinitely is the weirdest word in these cases. It could be a game to a whole year, but personally, I hope the gummy he ate is only 1 game.

if kstate hadn't have announced it, no one would have noticed either the suspension or the departure.

Well, ppl needed to know a reason why a 7 foot player sitting on the bench isn't spelling our work horse DJamer, so I get it. It is nice to think tho, from a university that doesn't disclose everything, that they're finally speaking out loud for once on a situation. Glad to finally hear the story.

Our fans can't decide whether to hear the noise out loud or not at all. Sad.

They obviously haven't announced the length of the suspension but my guess is that it is the dreaded three game suspension. He'll miss Gardner-Webb and UT. The only caveat to this is that the suspension came at the conclusion of the semester which means it may be academic. So what I'm telling you is that it's either going to be three games or the rest of the season.

Hoping it's the date with Mary Jane. As for Williams, meh. I don't see Oscar crafting a project big into a contributor.

I viewed him as a contributor from the start. I was ridiculed here for suggesting after his sophomore year that he would be equal to Gipson. But many kudos to him and staff for the player he has become. I was thinking more in the line of taking a lumbering giant like Colon and making him worthwhile to have on your roster.

What I saw of Williams he was a below avg Big 12 athlete while DJamer was clearly a good enough athlete if not skilled enough to play in this conference.

Sadly DJamer is the only "power" big worth a damn in 5 years of oscar  :frown:

Could they have not announced it and then really stuck it to whichever one left by having Gip dress up as him the rest of the season?

FWIW I said DJamer would be exactly this after seeing the preseason scrimmage his freshman year.

I hope Maurice is back soon.  I think we need him as back up for DJamer and Wade if either gets into foul trouble or need a break.  Budke was surprising.  Williams would have been a good minutes eating lump to run in to stall for time.  He.had a nice baby hook.  He was slow.though.  Hopefully we can get value from the open scholarship.

I don't think DJamer was a hard scout. He was always able to rebound, had really good numbers as a freshmen. Could finish at the rim, had good athleticism and physicality.

Dante was also going to take time and was limited because he had bad feet and just wasn't super physical. I think Maurice is a far harder scout but has a wider skill set. I wish we could have seen more of Love, he seemed to be physical.

Nigel Shadd is probably a kid EMAWers should be higher on, he is pretty good athlete for his size and that makes the transition a lot easier.

Maybe my point about DJamer should have been development from a contributor to an all league caliber player. His rebounding ability and effort was evident from the start, but I don't think anyone anticipated him becoming the efficient scorer or shot blocker that he has become.

I thought Love looked more athletic and skilled in the few exhibition minutes he played than Williams. Maurice is obviously highly skilled although not exceptionally athletic, just needs to get stronger.

Just an fyi, Maurice failed three drug tests in a row. I don't believe academics played a role, but I can't 100% confirm that part.

Is Love not the c/f who got hurt in practice after one of the exhibition games? That's who I'm talking about.

Yeah, he got hurt in practice, but I don't think he ever made it to an exhibition game. You might be right tho! Pitt State was October 28th and this came out November 1st http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/kansas-state/article111889407.html

Maybe i'm wrong! :surprised:

I agree with this. But I think the big thing with him is he was way more physical than Williams in that short time. But I don't think that is saying a lot. Maurice and Dean will never be physical players and we need to balance that at, some how.

Not Williams. He's gone because he legitimately is not a D1 caliber player. He had issues running down the court in practice w/out falling over.

Shot blocker yes, because he has always been quick off of the floor, when healthy anyway. I definitely didn't think he would be a guy to go to for a bucket.
