Can you eat all of a green onion, or just the bulb part?

The top (green) part looks like those circle things you can put on baked potatoes and stuff. Can I chop the top (green) part up and use it as a garnish? Anyone?

it's not a garnish you dumbass, it's a green onion.

you can eat the entire thing, but you don't necessarily want to.
grilled, eat the bulb plus about 2-3 inches up the stalk. with lime, salt and salsa. lots of people don't eat any of the stalk, or even the outer charred skin of th bulb. those people are dumbasses though.

Well I'm making salsa and I needed to know how much of the green onion to put into the FP. Thanks for the quick responses everyone. After it's finished and I've garnished it with the top (green) part of the green onion, which can be used as a garnish if you didn't know, I'll snap a picture of it and post it. It's probably going to look amazing.

ya i totally digg. i'm making a stuffed turkey tonight with ham and eggs and hashbrowns. sounded different than my usual stuffed turkey recipe so i figured i'd give her a shot.
