Probably good enough.   If he can complete a pass down the middle field he'll be fine.

Good point....

My eternal optimist side still holds out hope that they might work on that with two weeks to prepare.

I believe in Bill's mantra that if you choose to, you can always take something away from the offense, it just becomes a matter of what you are  willing to give up. There seems to have been a strong emphasis on taking away the run this season, but as the season has progressed teams have figured out our coverages and/or beaten our pressures, especially OU and OSU. Both teams also ran the ball well too.

Also, this isn't Briles' Baylor when it comes to the passing game. They are a bottom half Big 12 team in nearly every passing category and now we get to see them with their back up QB. I don't see them putting up OU/OSU type passing numbers and if we contain the run we'll certainly have a great shot to win this game.

Well stated, _Fan... The broadcast team alluded to the fact that there is some in-fighting within the staff at Baylor and some unrest within the team.  This 3rd straight loss, coupled with the brutal injury to Russell and we might be getting a fragile group Saturday.

Maybe #200 vs KU at home is still in play.

stop. they will absolutely destroy our lack of pass defense and cruise to another win, while hertz throws 27 incompletions. bill will act pissed off that someone questioned why his defense gave up 500 yards and require another cup of coffee to even answer questions. roll his eyes, like he's above everyone else in the room.

and baylor's backup is approximately 37% better than any QB currently on our roster.

Keep in mind Oklahoma State averaged 6.9 yards per rush vs us last week. We are capable to be shredded on the ground too.

I don't remember what I was doing Monday night that made me think this, but yeah, Baylor could absolutely suck enough to set up a magical squawkflower showdown.

Their backup threw for 419 yards and 3 TD's on our defense last year. I expect similar, if not better stats this year.

I spent some time talking to a big OU fan this morning, fairly knowledgeable guy, about the Baylor vs OU game.  He thought the backup QB for Baylor was really good.  In his opinion, the bigger thing to watch for was that their best RB got a little dinged up.  I have no idea if that's accurate.

Baylor can put up big numbers. Our defense isn't good. However, this isn't the a Briles monster of the prior 4 years that was consistently a top 5-10 offense. This one is vulnerable and rated about #30 by the metrics and now will be without their top QB.

Not to mention that they are on a three game losing streak, their best running back in conference program history is suspended for fighting a coach, they are clearly distracted by all of these rape controversies, and they lost their last home game by 40 to TCfreakingU.

And I know it's been mentioned ITT but us having a bye week and Baylor having to play OU will also factor. Coupled with the fact that we let that OSU game get away from us, I could see a very pissed off K-state team going against a potentially broken Baylor.

Biggest factor will be having to get pressure on him, obviously. If we do, he'll crumble and turn it over....a lot.

5 factors (+ a few) match up is pretty even. They are more explosive (YPP), but so is everyone else. If we can hold their YPP to our average or better I think we win. If we have another game of big play after big play leading to 8 YPP or better, the other numbers will follow suit. I think we probably force a couple TOs and make a big ST play.

Get up quickly on them and they fold or we fold?   Because it seems like we have been folding of late.  Or punting, or both.

Damn!  He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!

I'm thinking it'll be a repeat of TCU/WV/OSU where we find ourselves in a position to take a chance and seal the victory, only to make another dumb coaching decision and give the game to Rapelor.
