At this point, it's probably more entertaining when we lose.

Ertz is fine. They (Dimel/Miller) are turning him into Klein 2.0 which is exactly what they wanted to do.

Oh. Gut buster.

I'm fairly pissed. I guess for me beating old Big 8 teams is still a big deal.
Got Dammit!!
-
I was very sure we were going to lose the game, couldn't quite figure out how when we took the lead, then watched us blow the end of game clock/timeouts before we even had the pass short of goal/pass interference play.

There were a clusterfuck of mistakes in the last seven minutes. By both players and coaches, eerily similar to the WVU game

That reeks of terrible coaching. This staff must go now before it's too late.

that's really tough.
-
i really like ertz now that i think he's durable.

JFC. Love Ertz. Our fans tho.

Yeah. He gets tons of love here, but outside this board in tuckville, it's pretty rough. It's hard to see a stud like him get hated on, but I think he'll get them on board next year.
-
He's obviously limited, possibly due to injury, but he just gets it done. Easy to like.
-

My wife went to the grocery store when we were up 9 late. She came back and I was in the front yard picking up leaves, pissed. I told her we lost. "Shut up, no we didn't." "Yes, yes we rough ridin' did." "Cmon, we were up 9." "We lost." "No we didn't." "I'm not shitting you, we lost." "How?" "We didn't even turn the ball over, they just beat us at like regular football stuff. It was bullshit."
-
Mrs wacky has grown to root for the cats just for the pure joy she see's I have after a victory, but she even said herself: "You guys seem to do this a lot. Like, I mean, you control the whole game, and barely win in the end or don't". I just looked at her and said: "Yup!"
-
I thought she went to K-State?
-
I thought she went to K-State?
Nope. She's a squawk, but she has family members that are big donors for K-state, so we go to a lot of games with them.
-
I, personally, would be happy if we never lost again.
-

I don't trust Miller. I think Dimel gets too much heat. The running game has been solid for a while now. But I don't think the passing game makes any sense.

I've never thought about it like this before, but our play-calling is about what you would expect when you have co-offensive coordinators, one in charge of run game and the other in charge of passing. Namely, politics comes into play in terms of how many passes we call, even if we are running the crap out of the ball.

FWIW, several years ago I was told that Dimel/Miller do work together closely on prep and gameplanning, but on game days Dimel calls the majority of the plays. Clear passing situations (2nd/3rd and long) go to Miller. I guess that's why Dimel gets $10K more.
-
I have been told that as of a year or two ago Dana calls all of the plays.
-
If we really do have a different coach for each type of play that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard
-
I have been told that as of a year or two ago Dana calls all of the plays.
I don't know how it works, but even if Dimel is calling ALL the plays, it seems possible that there would be political/personal pressure to call some passing plays for the passing game coordinator.
That seems as good of an explanation as any in terms of why we came out passing the ball last year against TCU in the second half--Dimel wanted to keep Miller happy by throwing some (passing) bones to him.

No. These guys may not always agree, but I have no doubt they put in tons of work and want to win. They call stuff that they think will work.

I don't think playing calling has been as big of an issues as the pass games ineptness. I think it is a big portion of poor pass game-planing. :dunno:
-
Also the coaching of the safeties seems terrible for two years straight.
-
I think at this point I care more about Brucetball.

I'm not doubting their work or their will to win. I'm trying to make a point about human nature, although I admit I haven't made the point very clearly.
-
Do they really put in THAT much work? Anymore than any other CFB coach? I doubt it.

or get his kid touchdowns like a shitty coach dad in peewee football

I know Snyder did/does. I can't speak to Dimel. I have heard that the players love Snyder but not so much Dimel or Hayes.
-
How do you know he works harder than Nick Saban or Urban Meyer?
-
It's possible he works harder, not smarter.
-

I play golf and cards all the time with Nick and Urb. Snyder always turns me down.

You can correlate play calling aptitude with the players running the plays. No one complained about play calling when we had an offense with CK, Hubert, Lockett, and Harper. They are having a harder time putting players in a position to succeed because the players aren't as good. I feel like we still have the mentality about play calling and offensive strategy as we did in 2012, that's obviously problematic.

I think at this point I care more about Brucetball.
Tries too hard to be edgey

At this point we have the first basketball game of the season versus a football bye week. That's not trying to be edgey.

Combined they get paid like a top 10 OC, so I'd hope so, but probably not.

Technically Coleman is the passing game coordinator and Dickey is the run game coordinator. Look it up, I'm not bs'ing you. Dana is RB and TE's coach Co Offensive Coordinator, and Del is QB's and Co Offensive coordinator. Coleman WRs and pass game. Dickey Oline and Run game.
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!

They probably sit down together and each do half the work of a top 10 OC, then tell each other what they did and go home.
