For the Cats, sort of a happy tie, but still disappointing nonetheless.

Due to a rules change during the postseason of 1995, college football games can't end in a tie.

k lock had an amazing one handed catch in that game

Under a minute, CU still got the ball back with a little time.

Sorry. That was 23 years ago and I'm sure I was lit in the student section. Still remember the catch though.

I was actually thinking the same thing, I just went back and rewatched the end. It was an interesting decision.

Christ.....23 years. eff I feel old.
-
I went to this game. Twas cold
-
Couple of you guys are older than I thought unless you were still in high school.
-
i was 11
-
CU was ranked #16 at the time, I believe. I remember most everyone being ok with a tie to the 16 ranked team in the nation
-
I barely remember games from last year?
-
k lock had an amazing one handed catch in that game
I remember that the season highlight VHS tape had a segment where they interviewed KL about his favorite catches that he had made and the CU one was his fave.
-
Played the 3 big boys all in a row. Lost to Nebraska the week before in Lincoln. Tied with CU at home with typical Snyder conservativism to put the ball in the middle of the field rather than try a touchdown for the win. Next week completely controlled Sooners at home.
This was the game where K State went from doormat (or a nice story) to the real deal. Though not a win it was a giant step forward. The next week confirmed it. Great times. Lockett was a beast.
-
Chad May had a big arm.......sits only behind Bishop in that category in my lifetime of KSU cat football.
-
I was working as a student intern at sports information that season and let me tell you, that game was treated as a win. Tying a ranked opponent got you mentioned on SportsCenter which was a very big deal at that time.

Lockett-Running-Sweiger was the GOAT K-State trio of receivers.

That was the first home game vs. OU in five or six years.

True, they were very good too. I was thinking of the 95 group, regardless the 93, 94 and 95 passing games were fun to watch.
-
I think Mitch Holthus said something like "if a tie is like kissing your sister, then K-State's sister is Cindy Crawford while Colorado's sister is Roseanne Barr."
-
I remember watching the highlight tape as a kid and seeing that big completion to get us deep into Colorado territory. Always wondered what happened after that play. Got it to 3rd and 3 from their 18. QB draw for no gain lol

It was pretty amazing. Also, the weather wasn't that cold and the sun came out about a minute before that catch. Also I wasn't happpy with the tie that kstate played for in that game. Not at all you guys.

It was like 15 degrees
*I might be thinking of 95?

Maybe 97 when we finally took them down. Very cold that day. 95 was a pretty nice, sunny day with a sad ending.

Yeah, looking at weather history it was 97, record low for that date.
I hate how memories get proved wrong as you age

Yeah.
Probably the coldest game I ever attended was in Boulder in 96.

Man, we used to throw so many screens
And I miss Colorado. That stadium sounded brutal

That throwback play was so fun. Once we went down and scored I thought there was no way we would lose.

By the looks of the crowds & coaches' clothing, this doesn't seem accurate.
:dubious: :dubious:

I don't know what you're talking about
