I have a new game. It's called which show I should watch. There are a billion that I haven't and I'm curious which one I should. Just assume that I have not watched the show and suggest it. I will then take five suggestions and have a deeper suggestion off battle. For this first round just suggest a show. I've heard of most of them. If somebody already suggested the show you were going to suggest, you don't need to suggest it. Shows I HAVE seen...breaking bad, Seinfeld, stranger things, arrested development, making a murderer, lost.

I am currently watching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I enjoy it. Have you seen it, Rick?

I have sent it (always sunny) Probably 15 episodes. I liked it. Man though, it's like ten seasons long or something though. If possible I would like less of a time commitment. It's on the list til five others beat it out (if that happens).

how about old shows? those can be nice because you can binge and you won't fall behind!
deadwood
-
Also, I have Netflix, decent cable and Amazon prime. I'll need one of those viewing options or incredibly specific info on how to watch it not available on one of those. Should have stated that sooner.
-
All u need is someone's cable login who has HBO

Ok. That's specific enough I guess. I don't have this now, but could just get HBO if I have to or whatever.
-
battlestar galactica
dead serious not a joke
-
Lost, again. You have to go back

Amazon Prime has a lot of old HBO shows on it, I believe including deadwood. I would also give you my HBO go password.

Have seen this. Good. I call it fatty guy/skinny girl. Granted I made that name up fifteen years ago when it was socially acceptable to say those things.

Do you prefer still running series or finished ones
-
I have also seen 40 Rock, unbreakable kimmy Schmidt and the first three seasons of Friday night lights.
-

Have not thought about this but maybe finished would be better. Also, sopranos? That any good? I doubt it. seems long. Like a lot of hours.

Sopranos

amazon: justified, the man in the high castle
hulu: elementary, fargo, louie, southland, angie tribeca, party down
-
Vice principals, you should start here.
-
Peaky Blinders. 3 seasons. 6 epis per season.

THIS IS A PERSONAL ATTACK
I watched one or two seconds of peaky blinders and loved each of them completely then watched all the other seconds and loved them completely as well

BoJack Horseman is a very good television show. It is on Netflix.

Justified is very fun. Not super deep but just grab some popcorn and enjoy.

Game of Thrones, obv.

Phineas & Ferb

another good suggesto. quick and easy.

Orphan Black

Phineas & Ferb
Netflix
Like 4 seasons but not sure
I think Rick is going to enjoy Ninjago (1st 2 seasons on Netflix)more - it has an actual story line instead of just a random series of episodes with the occasional 2 parter
-
I like to suggest Generation Kill on HBO go (also available on Amazon Prime). Only like ten 1 hr episodes and probably the funniest Military based show ever. Also an excellent book.

I have seen bunches of p&f and ninjago. both good but I'm prob more of a p&f fan. it's p funny. anyway, I'm now over those shows and looking to branch out into some adult stuff. close to narrowing this crap down and having a vote off.
-
New Girl is on Netflix. Also I liked pclams sugg of P&R. It's good.
-
pclams is right, go with parks and rec if you haven't watched it
-
Scrotal Recall (now called Lovesick). netflix. v funny and there are only 6 30 min epis (new season coming out in november tho)
-

I have seen parks and rec. it's great. it was one of the last remaining shows that I would try and somewhat regularly watch on network sitcom tv. I've seen probably 67% of them.
I've also seen new girl in the same way. used to know when it was on and watch it. it's great to. I should have made my initial "I've seen this show already" list longer.

Did you ever read that book about the '86 Mets?
-

another good suggesto. quick and easy.
also this. it's like the juco version of hard knocks/two a days.
-
Peaky blinders is still ongoing fyi, but also short seasons
-
Peaky blinders has never looked appealing to me and I d don't even know what it's about.
-
Did you ever read that book about the '86 Mets?
I did!
i guess i should give that back to you. sorry. what are your thoughts about this whole peaky blinders scenario?

no needs to apologize. i doubt i will ever feel compelled to read it again. maybe pass it along to someone else who might enjoy it. i'm glad you enjoyed it.
as to the peaky blinds sitchu, i tried to watch it once, but was not in a state of mind where it could hold my attention. people whose (who's? [i can never remember the correct form here]) opinions i trust on matters like this seem to enjoy it, so i say why not give it a go and see if you like it?

Daris don't let the name stop you. Bubbles nagged me about watching peaky blinders for a while before i finally got around to it. "Peaky Blinders?" I thought. "What kind of stupid crap is Peaky Blinders?"
It's phenomenal. I'm putting all my eggs into the peaky blinders basket.
I will advise, however, that although it's an English language show, the accents are pretty thick, and watching it with subtitles really helped me out. Just a little advisement from dlew here.

peaky blinders sounds exactly like the type of show that would feature a bunch of pretty thick english accents
my goodness, you guys are worse than the paid amazon product reviewers

go watch reality tv and let the adults help daris find a new past-time activity.
-
yeah daris. just watch whatever bravo show clams is ironically watching this week. i'm sure that'll be a gas.
:flush:
-
wait daris- you seem to be cut of a finer cloth. i think i have just the tv show for your discriminating tastes. it's called peaky blinders. some describe it as the grey poupon of television shows, just don't mind the heavy english accents and you'll be fine.
-
accents :curse:

Look at these goof balls.
-
I mean it has Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy. It should be great, but after 5 minutes I was so bored I turned it off.

I dislike this guy for some reason. I think it was the batman movies that did it.
-
ok. I'm going to narrow it to five and we can debate merits of each. where? HERE! when? TOMORROW!
-
Bob's Burgers is delightful
-
Who hates Cillian Murphy, good grief :dunno:
-
peaky blinders is like the best elements of Downton Abbey + the Godfather + Snatch, all rolled into one
-
oh ya downtown abbey, but only the best elements
-
Well I've been watching Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey on Netflix and I'm about 4 episodes in. It's pretty good. Hosted by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. It has some weird cartoon parts that are kind of weird but I'm interested in space and stuff so I like it. And it really dumbs everything down for people who are pretty dumb in science-y stuff like me. Just something for you to consider, if it doesn't make the top 5 that's fine, I know it's not really a sitcom type of show but just keep an open mind is what I'm saying.
-
i started watching cosmos a few weeks ago and really enjoy it too. the graphics (is this proper terminology for computer generated space scenery in a tv show?) are p great. also enjoy ndt a lot too.
-
anything with ngt is guaranteed to be great
-
What time did RD say he was going to reveal his top 5? The suspense is killing me. If Peeky Blinders makes it in but one of mine doesn't I'm going to lose it.
-
Peaky Blinders is such a gross name for a show
-
If you liked the movie "the Imitation Game' - check out The Bletchly Circle - same WWII timeline.
Also, same era, would recommend another British who-done-it drama series called Foyles War. Both are on Netflix.
Not sure if anyone mentioned Mad Men.
Penny Dreadfull was, uh, different, - unfortunately they seemed to quickly end the series in year 3.
Dexter. Ray Donovan.
Power (Starz), just about done with season 3. (Like Peaky Blinders fast-forwarded to 2016 NYC setting?).

Penny Dreadful was properly named because it was pretty dreadful of a show.

3 part WW1 series "Our World War" is pretty entertaining. Netflix.
