Pretty sure I've seen it referenced in here before, but I think whether Snyder gets his 200th win this season decides if it's his last. I don't think he'd ever admit it publicly, but I think he wants to reach that mark before he hangs it up. Think it happens this season? If so, which game? As much as I'd like it to happen earlier, I'll say it happens against KU in the finale. Would be pretty fitting to do it against a rival he's dominated for decades, in what could be his final game in Manhattan. Thoughts?

Not really pleased to see you trying to push HOFCBS out the door. Pretty crazy considering what he has done for the program, but I guess you can't see that.
-
i always knew KsuWildcatsXII hated our cats, only a matter of time before he was ousted
-
Look at the depth chart, I would guess next season or the one after that will be his last.

Sorry guys. I just get so gosh darn angry sometimes.

It really says a lot that in your first 15 posts you're very clearly wishing for LHOFHCBS to be shown the door. Unreal.
-
I think as long as his doctors say his health is good enough, the people of KState want him, and he is a ~ two minute drive from a Taco Bell. . .Bill will stick around.

Not sure what came over me. Maybe I'll heads over to Tuttle, skip a few rocks and do some soul searching before Friday's kickoff. Hope you guys can forgive me. To paraphrase famous horticulturalist Harvey Updyke, "guess I just had too much EMAW in me."

Agreed, especially when Ertz get's his medical red shirt. We could/should be a very good team in 2017 and 2018.
-
good grief, snyder doesn't have 200 wins yet?
ned yost has 275 wins in the last 2+ seasons alone

Why would you ever quit a job where you make a fortune, work 4-5 hours a day, don't have to recruit, employ your son and are home by dark everyday?

Sounds perfect. Especially when he got tired of his family the last time he retired. Now he can stay away from them every night "watching film" aka getting hammered at his office, watching weird Pinocchio anime.
-
Really though, if he wants to coach into his 80s or 90s, you won't get any argument from me. What I was (unsuccessfully) trying to say was, if this might be his last year in HIS mind, I think falling short of No. 200 would coax at least one more season out of him. With all the young talent coming through the system, I won't be shocked if he's here at least a few more years, regardless.

How many more years before Colin Klein is a viable replacement option?

Is that the public win total or the private win total?

My theory is this: After 5 games Coach Snyder will have 300 career games as a Head Coach, That is a good round number that enables him to retire and hand the reins to his son Sean. This is perfect timing for several reasons.
1. Interim President Richard Myers that believes in promoting from within (its a military thing)
2. John Currie is worried about trying to get the Tennessee job and doesn't want a fuss over here in the Little Apple.
3. Snyder would be leaving Sean with a young lineup which would really set Sean up for the next couple of years.
4. Coach Snyder needs to retire soon if he is ever going to have a shot at his 2nd comeback.
:billdance:

Coach Snyder doesn't give a eff about arbitrary numbers, like 200. And this is why I love him.

6-8

I'd like to be the first to welcome Collin Klein to the Kansas State University head football coach position.

This thread took SO many turns I wasn't expecting...
