Title: Wolf Spider Stories from _33 (and others)
Post by: _33 on August 25, 2016, 09:29:54 AM
I once lived in a basement apartment on moro.  One time I was going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and a wolf spider crawled onto my bare foot.  :horrorsurprise:

BTW, lets please keep this thread to only wolf spiders.  If you have a story about another type of spider please start another thread.

One time a wolf spider got under the radiator and when I looked under with a flashlight I could see his eyes shining back at me.  :sdeek:

My dad built this wooden box in which he would keep firewood for our basement fireplace.  He kept it under the deck.  One time he told me to go get some more wood so I opened that box and out jumped this rough ridin' spider that was the size of a catcher's mitt.  eff your box dad you get the wood.

So is it a wolf looking spider or a spider looking wolf? Which is scarier?

Every time there was a new wolf spider sighting my wife would wear her snow boots until it was confirmed dead.

No one knows.  Scientists best guess is that a wolf mated with a dinosaur spider hundreds of years ago and this is the result.

That's the only wolf spider I've ever seen.  You must have a lot of wolf spiders.

This little beauty is known as The Huntsman.  They are from Australia but someone recently told me they have made their way into Kansas/Oklahoma.

It has been brought to my attention via PM that some posters in this thread are posting posts not related to wolf spiders and their stories. I will not reveal who PM'd me because they requested anonymity so I will respect their wishes.  To the people posting non wolf spider related posts, I will refer you to the first post in this thread stating that it is a wolf spider thread only.  There are plenty of other spider threads for other types of spiders and insects.  Remember that you signed an agreement when signing up for this forum to abide by all forum rules and those rules include not hijacking threads.  I have not as yet notified the mods but I will not hesitate to do so if I feel that is the best option to rectify this situation.  Thank you and so that I am not in violation of forum rules I will now share a Wolf Spider related story:

One time there was a wolf spider on the bathroom floor when I was getting out of the shower so I just stayed in the shower for like an hour until it left.

My uncle told me that you should let wolf spiders live in your house because they kill other spiders and bugs.  I said yeah good idea and let me go get a shark to live in the swimming pool to take care of the toad problem no thanks.

Skipper44 I think it is a wolf spider.  Looks very much like the one's I experienced on Moro.  So big you can hear them running around!

Once I was cleaning up rotten grain down in "the pit" of the seed cleaning company I worked for.  It was a dark, subterranean chamber with all types of creepy crawlies.  With my flashlight I saw the mother of all wolf spiders.  I picked up a handful of rotten grain and threw it at spidey to get him to run away.  Instead, he puffed up, started aggressively walking toward me, and was like "what? Come at me, bro."  F that pit.
