Realizing that one path in life is mutually exclusive of another path, and that you must choose, and forever say goodbye to that other you that might have been.

what if you're using the phrase adulting to make fun of the lazy, maladjusted shitheads that use the term seriously?

I don't think there are any real cons other than being that much closer to your own death. Even the whole friends and family getting sick and dying is a whole lot easier to handle as an adult than it was for me as a kid. For the most part, being an adult is great and being a kid sucked. I don't have kids, though. Maybe they make everything worse or something.

I think it's okay to wonder what might have been.  If anything it causes you to take more seriously the next important decision you're about to make.

What if I attended that Ivy League school I got into?

What if I took that job offer in Montana?

What if I try another (new) industry?

This and the anxiety it causes.

don't play that game. learn from the mistake(s), put the crap behind you, and move on. stressing about things in the past will lead to a fuckup in the present.

also, you're going to make mistakes, just have your crap together so you can recover from them quickly.

I know and usually rebound well. It's just hard in the moment. And takes a couple days. Of course not taking care of my affairs only adds to things. I'll succeed. I know it.

Yes, basically feeling tired. . .always.

I especially miss staying up all night, getting like four hours of sleep and being completely functional the next day.

Mrs Wacky's dad went back to the hospital yesterday, because of a botched procedure from last Thursday trying to remove some new cancer cells that showed up. Ironically, my mother got rushed to the emergency room yesterday for internal bleeding.  :frown: They thought it was an ulcer, but just found out it isn't and they still have no clue what's causing it. Two floors separate Mrs. Wacky's father and my mom at the same hospital. What kind of horrible bizzaro world is this?

She goes under the knife tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the well wishes and texts. She seems in good spirits, but it's definitely a risky surgery. Sorry, hospitals suck, hard not to pass time. She has a tumor on her pancreas. This won't be easy.
