I was always partial to William Powell. Not sure if he counts as an unsung hero, but I liked him. That guy did not get enough touches.

I was wasted last night, put on a K-State highlight vid before bed, there was a play with Angelo in it, and I made this thread.

Emmanuel Lamur in '11. He was largely overshadowed because that was Arthur's first year with us, but Lamur was a stud in the one and only season the coaches played him at LB

This thread would be better if examples were given for why they are unsung heroes.  Maybe specific plays or something like that.

I can't remember half these people or what they did.

Ex.  Tysyn Hartman - in a loss at Mizzou, a fellow defender got an interception.  Immediately Tysyn turns quickly to block a wide receiver from tackling our defender. Great reactions and quick thinking.  Resulted in our guy returning the pick 15 yards.

I don't know if Mario was an unsung hero and I can't say how effective he'd be in Tom Hayes bend and often times break aka The Frayed Two Pound Test Monofilament defense, but I do feel like Mario would make WR's very nervous and there's no way other teams would be doin that dirty crap they do to us now if we had more guys like Mario.

I think the change in how defense is allowed to play would be much more of a detriment to Mario's game than any defensive coordinator would. He seemed to me to be a bit of a freelancer.

Kitt Rawlings. I loved those early 90 teams. You could see the tide turning and those teams would get fired up and looked like they were having fun.
