Title: Grade for.2016 recruiting.
Post by: renocat on April 19, 2016, 07:22:34 AM
I give it a b-.  Some holes filled.  Hopefully Hot Horndogs will not be Claws main backup.  I think oscar wants ballhandlers with all of these midsized guys.  I wish we could get a quality big guy to help Djamer and xWhomper.  Bullnuts might.be.the answer.

sneed: stud
diarra: stud
patrick: less studly but ok
love: project big. not a stud.

coach bw: still a worthless rough ridin' pud.

that's my appraisal.

I like Patrick.  Probably more than I should.

I think my feelings are clouded by the fact that he went to the same HS as Mitch and Tay, so I believe there's some magic pixie dust on him.

When I look back on my time with oscar, my main concern was recruiting, but I think he's done an okay job there.  At least better than I thought he would.  My problem with him is the style and attitude with which his team plays.

I can't really find anything on Love, so I'm not really going to form an opinion one way or another.  I feel like if DJamer is healthy, and we have Williams, Wade, Maurice, this new McSwain kid, etc. we may redshirt him.

Maybe this is a trick question, but I think the reason other schools get good transfers is because they don't have a gigantic nerd who is a horrible coach and worse human being as their head basketball coach. I think that's a turnoff for quite a few of today's youth.

I cannot wait to see who we hire as a new assistant.  It is going to be embarrassingly low who-the-hell-is-that type stuff.

Not if it's Will. We all know who that is.

If we hire a junior high girls bb coach as our next assistant, watching Kenn spin that will be a hilariously/awfully entertaining thing.  We would have to win the conf for oscar to not get fired after that, imo.

I am fine with a who-the-hell-is-that guy if he was driving van loads of kids around for one of the Dallas Mustangs or similar in the last 3 years.

Well, Sprads does have his own AAU program now.

True story, I took over Fordham on NCAA 2K8 and made them into a hoops dynasty. I'm pretty sure that's the last thing of relevance they've done in basketball in either virtual reality or actual reality. If we land this kid, oscar should go flex on their crowd in the 5,000* person gym

*note, this could have changed since 2007

oh yes! we are in for a 6'8 center from Bethune Cookman, fighting loser mid majors, and UNLV for him.

Even if he is good somehow, we'll lose out on him to some low-level team.

my initial guess would be that through the years those players are at their original universities, they hear through the grapevine from buds, coaches, friends, etc., just how miserable it is to be around Oscar's program.

we can get a transfer from Bethoon Coatman because they're so small timey that they don't have friends or connections that would know this.
