We are going to be shitty.

Our entire Oline except center scares me to death, especially if we run with young QBs. They are going to get killed.

QB:  Ertz/Delton
RB:  by committee (Jones, Warmack, Silmon, Barnes)
FB:  Dimel
WR: Burton
WR: Heath
WR: Rueter/Goolsby/Zuber
Oline: Risner/Johnson/Frantz/Ruth/Allen
TE:  Valentine/Small

Like last year, it all depends on QB.  Snyder could play with posters from this board on offense as long as he has a good QB.

Defense looks good:
DE:  Willis
DE:  Wood/Olomua
DT:  Geary
DT:  Seiwart/Settles/Dishon  (weak spot)
LB:  Lee
LB:  Moore
Nickel:  Starks
Corner:  Shelley
Corner:  Dozier
Safety:  Barnette
Safety:  Adams

Defensive tackle worries me; it would have been nice to have Hood and the kid whose dad got sick.  Also, I have no idea whether Seiwert has recovered from his bowl-game injury.

You guys, we're going to be "pretty good" this year.  That defense is going to be stifling.  Stifling!

And I'm very confident about our offense.  It doesn't take much talent to make that engine run like a Ferrari, and I think we'll have enough in 2016.

Suffice it to say, I'm much more bullish on the '16 cats than I was the '15 cats.

i am such more an optimist about cat football than cat bball. actually, more an optimist abt cat football than probs any other single portion of my life. like, i can even look at that lineup and squint just right and see 9-10 wins. it's a weakness.

I would like to thing we will be better.

-Led TCU and OSU at the half with a huge lead and loos (we like never do that, and we did it twice last year, we broke a 49 game lead at half win streak to do that and are like 160-6 still since like '92 or w/e it is in leading at the half (including even the Prince years). We can/should be at least equally good next year, and pull those games out.

-We played with a freaking QB who hadn't started a game since middle school and won 6 games with very little WR help and decent RBs. To me that is the floor.

We'll be better, but like 7-8 wins. If we had this year's schedule set up like last year, we might push 9. all the @ games and @Stanford hurts, and ku as a home game is a waste of a home game. Rather keep that game permanently an away game until they get within a TD of actually beating us.

@ Stanford - L
Florida Atlantic - W
Missouri St. - W
@ West Virginia - W <=they still haven't beat us, yet
Texas Tech - L <= Mahomes and Co should be pretty good
@ Oklahoma - L
Texas - W
@ Iowa State - W
Oklahoma State - W
@ Baylor - L
Kansas - W
@ TCU - W

8-4

I'd love to venture a guess as to what the lineup would look like and how good it would be, but after the last couple of years, especially on the OL, I honestly can't say that I fully understand what this coaching staff is thinking/wanting.

You'd imagine that these JUCO guys they're bringing in (i.e. Pringle, Beecham, etc.) would get a look, but it seems like history shows we'd rather bury a lot of those guys and play walk-ons and grayshirts.

Common sense says you'd have Delton starting at QB, Zuber, Heath, Pringle, Goolsby, and Burton at WR, Matthews and Beecham on the OL, etc.  But, honestly, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hubener start, a OL full of former walk-ons, and Reuter at WR.

Do I think we "could" be better?  Yes.  Do I think we will?  I have no idea.  Why?  Because this coaching staff seems to care about things other than talent when determining who plays.

This off-season feels exactly like the one going into Prince's last season. There's absolutely nothing to get excited about and even the most optimistic of us know that it's going to be a disaster. The only thing we have to look forward to is the possibility of a coaching change at the end of the season. It sucks that this is how Snyder is going out.

This off-season feels exactly like the one going into Prince's last season. There's absolutely nothing to get excited about and even the most optimistic of us know that it's going to be a disaster. The only thing we have to look forward to is the possibility of a coaching change at the end of the season. It sucks that this is how Snyder is going out.

it only feels that way for debbie downer types, like yourself.  realistic studs know we're getting at least 7 wins.  that's the magic number, 7.

If I remember correctly, the best player in ksu history was #7.  And he started playing for ksu in 1997.  And he led the cats to, you guessed it, 7 conference wins in '97 before the cats beat Syracuse in the Fiesta bowl by a score of 35-18, which is, you guessed it, a margin of 17 points.  And that season the cats finished #7 in the coaches poll.  A great season propelled mainly by a Great Effort by the entire team, which is, you guessed it, goal #7.  Magic number indeed.

welp folks- as evidenced in 33's post, science says 7 wins.  it looks like the Theory of 7 has been proven once and for all.

That's why #7 Colin Klein won us a big 12 Championship and ended his career after head injury #7.

My bold prediction: With Schulz gone and Currie's footing a little shakier, Snyder steps down midseason.  After handing the program to Sean, KSU cats end with 6 wins!

I'm worried that Bill may not make it to the actual stadium for the Stanford game due to how there campus looks.

Oline was way better than expected. Pringle was involved in the offense a lot more and Heath played a smaller roll than my estimation.

TCU and Baylor melted down this season.

I have high expectations for 2017

i know that our differences make us interesting and life would be boring if we agreed all of the time but when when people say things that contradict dlew12's ksu football analysis or prognostications i find myself hating that person because of how stupid they sound and in fact are. no offense to all of the people who made themselves look like huge dumbasses in this thread.

You're looking at this all wrong bubs. What was the difference between dlew and everyone else? Dlew knew Baylor would be sizzling hot garbage. And he knew that because he knew what was going on in the Baylor athletic department. What I'm saying is dlew knowingly stood idly by and allowed countless women to be sexually assaulted just so that he could say I told you so to the rest of the bloggers on this webpage
