Title: Drinking alone
Post by: jtksu on May 03, 2010, 09:19:17 PM
So, like, how do you feel about it?  I like to drink beer, but sometimes I don't feel like going to a bar.  Is it bad if I just buy a sixer and drink it while I watch tv or message board?  What if I polish of the sixer?  Is it cool to go back and pick up some more beer?  How much beer is too much beer to drink alone?  Blackout drunk?  I have so many questions...

A sixer only is for pussies. Grow a pair and buy a 30.

I never buy just a sixer.  But I've had like 6 leftover beers in my fridge since last weekend.  I always kinda thought drinking alone was no bueno, but makes it so much sense.  Its cheap, you dont have to get all cleaned up, no driving involved, etc.  Plus, pretty much all my buddies are married with kids, so drinking on a weekday is pretty much not gonna happen.  I feel pretty good about this new development in my life.

didn't plan on it, it just kinda happened.  he and a female friend sat down next to me outside at reverse and the 3 of us drank for several hours.  reverse sells dark and stormys out of real copper mugs, they're so elite.   :dunno:

Yeah, it was a total random thing for me.  I was out with a couple female friends on like a wednesday.  ICP sat down and started bs'ing with us, telling us they were barbers from Lubbock.  I called bullshit on account that they had several DETROIT tats.  Long story short, we ended up barhopping and getting Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) drunk.  I still think those chicks ended up doing ICP, but they swear they did not.

Diet Dew also makes for a decent margarita mix substitute in a pinch.  IN A PINCH.

Mt Dew is no good at all.  Squirt is much better.  and Fresca is waaay better.

Well, of course Squirt is better.  Where can you even get it nowadays?  I havent seen that crap in years.  Cant get down with Freesca though.  Unless we're talking palomas...

I agree on the Squirt over Dew when make-shifting margarita mix.....but I mix it up and go with Diet Squirt when it's handy.  However, diet Dew is much more frequently encountered.

The key here is that it needs to be diet.

I agree, why waste empty calories on sugar when alcohol is much better (and better for you)

Dont really get down with diet sodas in general and especially not as a mixer.  About the only timeI use a soda as a mixer is with bbourbon/whiskey and diet ruins it.  Never tried Coke Zero though, it might be okay.

After graduating last may I realized that I really miss drinking on random Tuesday nights and smoking drugs.

Due to most my friends still being in school and the possibility of drug tests I have become good friends with my couch and scotch.

If I'm drinking alone, I just go for beer. I don't want to take the five seconds to mix a drink if no one is going to appreciate it with me.

I hadn't had a mimosa in a very long time, until this weekend.

Wife hosted a wedding shower, the "ladies" didn't touch the two bottles of champagne and OJ.  I left the house for the party, found the booze when returning, and killed it the rest of the day.

Love getting drunk and working in my yard on a sunny day.

Long story short, mimosas are great.

This is true. Drinking good liqueur after good liqueur is a waste of good liqueur.
