Title: Which 'wich maker
Post by: The Big Train on March 25, 2016, 09:38:49 AM
I like 'wich's, and not just any kind of 'wich but gourmet ones.  Panini's with grill marks on the bread :lick:.  Hot ham and cheese and toasted subs.  I also like burgers and chicken, nope not from a George Forman.

What do you have?  Help me buy my next which 'wich maker.  This is what is on my short list:

Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler, Silver, Black Dials
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002YD99Y4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_RSu9wbCGX9A7Z

You are going to laugh at me, but our old George Foreman grill works really well for this.

honestly, and i don't mean to blow everyone's damn minds here - but there are about 5 sandwiches in this world that are meant to be served warm.  and none of them are called "panini" <-- gross word
1) grilled cheese
2) french dip from houston's/hillstone
3) meatball
4) philly
5) filet-o-fish

if you're making "panini's" you need to really join a focus group and figure out why you took that direction when you came across the fork in the road

can't believe i've typed that "p" word twice in this thread, going to dip my hands in 90% isopropyl alcohol for 45 minutes

Having a panini palette means getting more than just a cheese pizza.  It's more refined, has more than carbs and dairy.  Simply put it is an expression of a sophisticated cultured taste base.

None of those things really describe 'clams so I'm not surprised by the lack of enthusiasm.  It's easy to judge something if you've never tried it.

I don't particularly like sandwiches,  but I like burritos.  I couldn't eat a burrito made from a machine, so I doubt a sandwich would be any good from a machine either.

I eat frozen burritos made from a machine. They are no longer frozen when I eat them.
