Tone honest, I probably didn't pay close attention to the cheers unless it was something that I knew from my Dana days.

cheerleading has always seemed like an outdated & creepy/gpc-y concept to this cat fan

Same.  I would imagine it is kept around for  scholarship numbers, right?  Here's an idea, keep them, let them dress normal, put them in the front row of the section right next to the students and make their job to be cheering their asses off like reg students.  No chants.  No crowd engagement.  Just loud swearing, anger, and doom.  Also, lot less injuries.

Cheer scholarships don't count in athletic numbers.

Ah.  That's odd to me for some reason.

Cheer scholarships dont exist, and if they did they wouldn't count

Yes they do, unless it recently changed, cheerleaders have the ability to earn $600 academic scholarships.

Less $$$ than that and only a few can get it

it sounds to this unbiased observer that we all agree that they are, in fact, not cheer scholarships but instead they are $600 academic scholarships

Cheerleaders are smart enough to get academic scholarships?

What exactly would you call a scholarship awarded to cheerleaders that are called "cheer scholarships?"

Cheerleaders are smart enough to get academic scholarships?
Why would you ask that question?

Because sometimes I like to make posts that are obviously not serious to anyone that knows me. I like to see who takes them seriously and thinks that I may actually be an idiot. It's a fun game I sometimes play to entertain myself. My other thought was to post "Cheerleaders earn academic scholarships? Clearly they aren't athletes then."

Were you also joking about joining the military after the Paris attacks?

No. I need some direction in my life. I was just kind of spinning my wheels and not achieving anything. I had always wanted to join the military and thought it as good a time as any. I'm not getting any younger. Fortunately, I found my way into a job with great pay and tuition reimbursement. So I'm going to commit to the 3 to 4 years at this job and then reevaluate.
