Title: Oh BTW next year won't count either
Post by: CHONGS on February 22, 2016, 02:32:56 PM
we get to use the youth excuse again, but this time focused on the youth of the regular rotation

the earliest we can begin to evaluate oscar's performance is 2017, and then its only fair to judge him on two years.

he really can't be fairly judged until his first full class to not mostly transfer graduates.

We really should just be grateful that we have such a wonderful representative for K-State. Bringing in people who fit the #FAMILY. Except when they don't, but oscar takes care of that when their benefit as a player no longer outweighs their benefit as a scapegoat.

i just worry that people will think they are being fair if they wait until the end of 2018 to judge.  but that really wouldn't be fair at all because that team won't have any seniors.

i think Currie will let him coach out the remainder of his contract through 2019.  I think that would be the senior year for the big three.

Oh good catch! That wouldn't be fair at all.

Quote from: John Currie, circa 2019
This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, I have great appreciation for Coach Weber, both as a person and a coach. I want to offer our thanks for his service here. We have a tremendous commitment to success in basketball at K-State. We have a championship tradition … As we went through the evaluative process, I just felt we were not on a trajectory to get back to the level of achievement that we have experienced in our history and that it was time for new leadership.

To be honest, I never foresaw this day. We did two different contract extensions for Coach Weber, and I always thought we would be doing another one at some point. I didn’t think we would be in this position. But as the year unfolded and you look at the position we have been in the last five years, I just didn’t feel right in the transition. I felt that it was time.

Well written. I'll bump in 2019.
