Title: Road Barry-al; WVU ADV

Another shooting performance to once again set the Cats back on pace to be the worst 3PT shooting team in K-State history. The up and down frosh guard duo combined to go 3-14 from the floor, but no one else was much better. 1-18 from 3 and with 19 TOs will beat no one, WVU set the pace after the double technical fouls and it was only going to be about K-State making it respectable. We didn't.

A -0.55 difference from OSU to WVU in offensive efficiency is pretty crazy.

Denis Stokes and Jacob Brown didn't have a particularly stellar evening.

Did you see where we gave up a fast break layup off a missed free throw? I have no idea how our defensive efficiency is as good as it is.

I was listening to the radio at that point, but yeah, that's really bad.

36% shooting and TO the ball just over 1/4 of the time.....That's as bad as I can remember  from a "combo of those 2 stats"

We only had 4 pts in 10:00 of game time (2-15 FGs, 7 TOs). That is putrid and we lost 10 pts on the scoreboard.  But the other 30:00 of game time weren't a whole lot better (0.88 PPP)

Man, when was the last time we shot worse from 3?

Man, when was the last time we shot worse from 3?
technically, 0 for anything is worse, but 1 for 18 is pretty unheard of

Yeah I would guess that has been a while since we didn't make a three.

Can't remember when any team was worse from 3-point range. Overall, pretty depressing.

We shot 0-13 against Wisconsin in the 2008 NCAA tournament.

Right now this year's team (.293) is only ahead of 96-97 (.288) for the race to be K-State's worst 3 pt shooting team ever.

Stokes made the first 3 pt attempt and then we went 0-17.

It was really obvious that we can't play at the speed that WVU sped us up to and we weren't coached well enough to play at our own speed.

the problem isn't with our shooters, it's with our offense.  the shot selection that our offense affords our shooters is garbage.  after passing the ball back and forth at the top of the key with nothing opening up, they're forcing up low percentage shots at or near the expiration of the shot clock.  every game.  and nothing has changed.

i used to think nothing could be uglier than frank's offense but um ya.

What?!?!?!? Everyone has told me that Oscar's motion offense is a thing of beauty!  A sight to behold!  Frank's offense might have been ugly, but it was effective enough at a time where the game was allowed to be ugly.  What refs allow WVU to get away with after the NCAA tried to make a statement that the game is supposed to change is almost criminal.  That said, we looked like hot garbage last night and completely lost thanks to poor game planning when you know that is how they are going to play.

This morning at the office I hosted a little spontaneous 3-on-3 basketCats action, complete with a door-hanging hoop and a "Squeeze Me Bro" stress ball as the rock. Besides Gigie getting posterized by Larry in Accounting, you know what I found out? That six people in business caz (two of whom claimed that they were "better at soccer") can shoot better than this team.

ya, Angel is great at breaking down defenses
part of the problem is that a few of these newer guys don't know what they're doing out there, although Claws actually seems to do ok running the motion

claws and sprads, the motion men

I like oldies music such as Gladys Knight and the Pips.  This year is no Gladys and Pips. NO Perry and the Pips.  No Freed, Ron, and the Pips.   The good old days Beaz, Jacob, Rodney, and non weed Foster were our headliners.  The reason IMO we get sucked into holes is that we have no stud player, just good pips.

It is likely that Foster was never nonweed while at KSU.

No, that was last year's game. We did hold them to .78 ppp and still lost though. Actually our 2 best defensive games in terms of defensive efficiency we lost last year, because we also held WVU to only .84 ppp and lost.

I'm lazy and just listed the last year of the season. 2014-15 season is listed as 2015, etc.
