Title: Mo Zones, Mo Prohm-blems; ISU ADV

Just ugly. The stretch of first half when we appeared completely surprised that ISU would zone us and proceeded to respond with stupid turnovers and clanked shots was some of the worst Wildcat basketball I've ever seen. Amazingly awful. Then we decide to attack and score at a decent clip in the 2nd and ISU responds with a dribble drive and lay-up/kick clinic and the Cats simply had no answer.

Its no surprise to most/many, but a promising start to this season is falling apart quickly and the fruits of roster upheaval/mismanagement are starting to show up in full force.

#bruceketball is here.

Ya, in other thread, I said 3 pts in 19 Poss. I think it was actually 20 poss as I forgot DJamer 1-2 FTs.

1 FG, 1 FT, 7 TO, then 11 other Poss where we end it with a missed shot.

20 Poss is 30% of this game. Tough to overcome getting outscored 24-3 vs a better team than you (at home or not)

Our OK FG%, good OR,TO% and decent 10-14 FTs in 2nd half didn't mean much when u are that pathetic in the 1st hf.

We're a bad team

Pretty high floor for a bad team though, so we don't get the blowout losses that really turn a fanbase against a coach. Worst things about this season imo.

Holefighters.   Jump in a hole, and fight like hell.  We have the meanest and best dang holefighters in the  Big 12.  Others fold; just throw the dirt on us, they cry.  But dang it, there stands oscar.  They cry, one for the Wiener!!!!   A clanker, a muffled pass, and rebounding like playing volleyball.  But the hombre Holefighters snarl and fight = like hell.  Fighting for their hole.  Win?   Maybe, someday, but where there is a hole full of injustice and meyham and chaos, we will be there fighting.

The fact that we don't see more zone is sort of a stunning indictment on the other coaches in this league.

Baylor is going to beat us by 25 at least once.  But you make a good point.  Bill Self may finally break oscar's ownership of the fOOD with some junk defense.

I don't see this team capable of more than 1 road win and I think our only home wins are: Tech (done!), Okie St., TCU and one to two upsets.

I don't see any path to 7-11 and 6-12 means we must actually improve upon our 3pt shooting.

Agree. No amount of quality defense can overcome shooting this bad. And against ISU we really didn't play good defense either.

nobody plays good defense against isu.  same with baylor, except a few teams have.

True, they are hard to guard. Spread, dribble weave, penetrate and kick, and you really can't afford to help off of anyone.

not many teams play bad offense against ISU either

kstate has been pretty consistent against top 50ish teams.  5 games with a sub 100 orating, 2 over 100.  only the tech game is a real outlier, at 124.8.  all others between 95.0 and 100.4.

I thought our effort on defense was pretty shitty against ou and ttech.

Scoring 23 against isu in a half is nearly impossible.

The current 3PT% of .284 is the worst at K-State since the 3PT line came to college basketball in 1987. Asbury's 96-97 team at .288 is the only other team to shoot worse than .300.

As long as we end up shooting better than Angel, I'll be good.

This should be quite a race. Currently .284 to .280 in favor of the Cats.

It could be worse Travis Ford could be your coach.

Would rather be in your position, he's getting fired and you get a coaching search, we get none of that.
