So, i'm very grateful for my job, so i'm not bitching here. However, I do think about those that it might effect. We'll be working on MLK day and I wonder how pissed you'd be if your company didn't recognize it and it's close to you? Is this common. I know some holidays are 50/50 on what days ppl get off. This seems like a weird one for me tho.

I have never gotten off work for MLK day.

:Wha:
I have never gotten off work for MLK day.
For the first time in my career I get MLK day off.
-
never had it off, but when i managed a small retail store i gave my employees the option if they wanted to.

These things don't bother me, but I think I about some of my friends and I could see how it would really piss them off. That's why I was curious. Especially, after this last year, where there's been high tensions over almost every subject matter.

3 floating holidays. You want it off? Take it off.
Gonna win 'em all! (using Tapatalk)

Didn't know people who didn't work in banks got MLK day off...
-
One job I had gave it off, but usually we had to work anyway and they gave us a floating day to use within 30 days after instead.

Do not get MLKJ Day off. Also, do not get off for President's Day, Columbus Day (aka Indigenous People's Day), or Veteran's Day.

I found it weird that Ms. wacky got it off, because I've never had it off either.
