The dithering weakling is breathing a big sigh of relief. rough ridin' Iranians almost derailed his historic deal that's gonna stop Iran from building nukes (just like NK).
Also, props to the comparison of a broke down vessel straying a mile into Iranian waters as like marching soldiers into Moscow.
-
Oops - this was supposed to go into the SotU thread. Please mod.
-
Prime butthurt
-
KSU wanted so bad for Iran to hold our sailors for a super long time. At least until November, anyway.
-
Dithering weakling might be the most succinct and apt description of a president ever.

Which emo band do you think he's listening to today? Life just isn't fair :frown:
-
in my mind's eye, "our dithering weakling" is a "my morning jacket" cover band
-
It just isn't catchy enough to me. Need something that will really work on the playground, like "booby in chief" or something.
-
Lot of ProgLib clinching over this thing, next thing you know Iran is going to be testing long range ballistic missiles... Wait...
-
:runaway:
-
Can you guys imagine how hard it would be to deal with Kerry? I mean, having to take meetings with that weird looking face....
I just don't know if I could do that.
-
...while Obama has sold billions in arms to Iran's neighbors.
-
I can never tell if dax is for more or less meddling in the middle east
-
When was the last pres who didn't sell arms to someone either in the middle east or neighboring them?
-
Who can tell anything with the most whackadoodle foreign policy administration in post WWII history.
Over here we're throwing out governments who are actually fighting AQ and have sworn off WMD's over there we're paving a path to nukes for a huge supporter of terrorism.

Possibly Hoover, but probably further back.

We've never had a clue when it came to Middle East policy. It's always been whackadoodle (or at least guided primarily by oil interests)
-
Overthrow and leave is a totally new one cRusty. Well, leave behind the CIA arms shippers and recruiters, but nothing else to actually attempt to stabilize.

It's just a slightly different version of whackadoodle that we've always practiced. Look up the Ike's CIA-instigated coup that overthrew a democratically elected leader in Iran.
-
Oh gosh cRusty never heard of that one. Did the US install a government when that coup occurred or did they just walk away?
-
Anymore I come to the pit to see what new and interesting ways the term "wackadoodle" will be applied.
-

In hindsight, we may have been better off just walking away...
-
Before or after the coup?
Not defending the coup, but you do realize many Iranians pine for the days of the Shah and its reforms and lack of theocratic social overlords.

and this is the only whackadoodle meddling I know much about before the second Iraq war. I wasn't aware of the failed attempt to overthrow Syria's president before I read that article.

Oil $38/bbl

When did dax stop being interesting and started making every post sound like every foxnews.com commenter ever, it's sad and frankly boring and predictable.

Yah!! The Saudi's are destroying small domestic oil companies! Time for a huge ProgLib celebration.
-

You expect us to think that after 5900 posts, you tried to reply to a thread, but mis-posted a new thread that you had to come up with a creative subject for?

Yeah, it's pretty amateur, I admit. I was trying to post from my phone, and the internet connection failed. The page reloaded, but it reloaded as a new post as opposed to a reply. Then it wouldn't post without a subject line and I thought "That's kinda weird" so I just wrote that in cause that's what I was posting about. Then it wouldn't let me delete the new thread and fix my own mistake. Bad day all around.

Ha! I called it!

Huge propaganda win for Iran. :thumbswayup.
-
I think my favorite part was John Kerry taking credit for it because his diplomacy on the Iran deal (read: unfreezing over a hundred billion in assets to Iran) encouraged them to only hold our soldiers long enough to make their propaganda vids.
I also liked how they first lied about apologizing to the Iranians and then - yeah, we apologized.
