So after KU beat OU Monday, I saw this online:
"Proud to hear that our fans at AFH applauded the OU guys as they left the court. Sportsmanship and respect for a great team and a great game."
So my question is, is it a sign of sportsmanship to cheer the other team after you just beat them?
If not satisfied with responses I will query Nebraska football board.

No. Its stupid.
-
anything described as "classy" is so gross to me. is something wrong with me? maybe it's a millennial thing :frown:
-
it's condescending, but if you don't want to be applauded for losing, don't lose.
-
bill self probably scribbled a thank you note to Lattin
-
Its fine, but its easy sportsmanship. Anyone can do that.
I mean, Nebraska did the same thing for Chad May in the 90s, but as soon as we beat them that changed. I know for a fact NU fans weren't staying around and applauding our effort after we destroyed them 2003.
And it usually happens in a case like this. OU hadn't won in Allen since in 1993. Really, its disguised as sportsmanship, but IMO its demeaning to the opponent because you are really saying "cute little effort from your guy, but we just beat you again".

the last sentence completely. when Marcus Smart beat them, he dared to celebrate on the court and was COMPLETELY CLASSESS :curse:!!!!!! If they lose to a team and stand around cheering, that's great.

No. They only stuck around because they knew ESPN was going to interview Hield and wanted to poach some sweet screen time. Would they have stuck around that long if OU had won?
-
They don't lose there very often, but I have been in AFH twice when they've lost and trust me . . . ain't no one sticking around to applaud the other team, and if the other team even acts remotely happy about winning there's usually a meltdown.
-
if the refs don't bail out ku again, no one is sticking around to applaud Heild.
-
They should have applauded Hield, not sure why they want a medal for it. Also worth noting when those people clapped for him after the SVP interview half of the people standing there were OU fans.

Who gives a crap? We got our D's S'd by the national media for a few hours because the game was great. Please pass the brie and get over it.

I enjoyed selfs post game comments re: hield. Should have recruited him harder but didn't because he thought Ben McLemore wasn't going to be a one and done
