Title: Back here in peace
Post by: overtheroadtruckdriver on December 16, 2015, 02:05:44 PM
I was here a few years ago and really enjoyed the board.  I am a razorback fan and Arkansan and look forward to some good debate about this big game.

Not here to stir up any problems.  That much I guarantee.

Well that's what I heard. I wanted to show up here and show them that there were some normal classy people from Arkansas and generally apologize for all the crap that's been stirred up and maybe get some insights into this football game.

As for attesting to my character and good intentions, I'd like for the good Rev to say a few words on my behalf as far as being a peacemaker and all around good message board contributor.  I am here with the best of intentions.

Hey, it is a big game for us.  Anytime you commit to a D-II school to pay them a cool mil to absorb a whippin', it's a big game.

You boys don't spend it all in one place, okay?

Yeah, I guess when you're 6 and 6 or 5 and 7 or whatever you guys ended up it doesn't mean much.  Sorry for that mistake.  Point well taken. Thanks.

I have heard that my friend Jack Blasingame had been banned but was working on being reinstated.  I don't want to get mixed up in that but Jack has grown up a lot since the last time he was here. If he's still banned it is a shame.  He, too, just wants to talk football and I've heard him lament many times about his previous actions here and I can only say he felt like this was the board he wished he'd behaved on and the one he felt like got away.

Hopefully if he's not back on someone in a leadership position can sit down with the man and work out whatever problems may have occurred in the past and get him back in here for some good football debate. He is nobody's fool when it comes to football strategy and X's and O's.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the "L" before the HC stand for?  I'm guessing either "lame", "lunatic" or maybe "Lazarus", but any help here would be appreciated.

I guess you already know about this but Jack does need a peace offering thread from the mods welcoming him back here.

Now I know a lot of you have hurt feelings from when Jack came in here a few years ago proclaiming to be daddy to most of you.  I don't know how true that is but the man does have kids scattered out all over the country so he might be some of your daddies.

So one of you mods just start a thread called "Daddy's coming home for Christmas" and get in there and apologize to the man and we can get one of the greats back in here and start talking up this big game.  He's a lot more mature than a lot of you remember him being, and I think when he comes back everyone is gonna get along really nicely.  I just have a good feeling about the folks on this board and I know that Jack is excited about the apology and his return and I wouldn't be surprised to see him welcome this whole brood back into his family if it turns out many of you are indeed his children.

Thanks.

Hate to tell you this, OTR, but trying to get proper recognition out of the bigwigs on this board is like flauntin' your manhood in front of Helen Keller - it just don't get no reaction at all.

I casually mentioned Jack's request for ten hand-picked KSU posters to change their avatars to the Shoney's Big Boy, and it was like I'd floated a big air biscuit across the room.  I've never run into such an obstinate crowd; how Coach Snyder puts up with 'em I'll never know.

But I admire your diplomacy.  Maybe somebody with some sense will see your post and get that new thread up and running.  I ain't holding my breath to wait for it to happen though.

I do most of my day posting from the shooting shack in my backyard...got a 12 pt and an 8 pt so far. My evening posts are from the basement.

BTW, whatever happened to that Springdale kid we sent you a few years or back?  Can't remember his name but he played nose guard and benched 400 in the 8th grade.

This board needs a jack blasingame, that much I can already see. Jack has the unique ability to galvanize.  Right now it seems like we Arkansans are being treated like second hand citizens by the local jokels and I'll admit maybe some of our guys have been a little out of line, too.  If jack came aboard and was placed in a position as moderator I have a feeling his leadership would soon cause both sides to come together and instead of all the backbiting maybe we could talk about football and our coaches and players and what our players eat at halftime and things of that nature.  Jack serving as a mod would allow him to get our guys in line and maybe straighten out a few of your local ne'erdowells as well.

Say the word and start that apology thread about daddy's coming home and change his avatar to that Shoney's big boy picture and name his as mod until after the game and maybe we can start having the type of debate and give and take regarding this game that I think everyone really wants.

Thanks, people and mods, too.

Probably not.  Four years ago I bet them that if we won the game I would become a mod.  They never honored that promise, however.

Now mr. Hog Swanson is aboard and that could mean some trouble.  He is one of the meanest most ornery posters we have and it looks like he may have come here as a hired gun to clean house.

Ran across this scientific factual map on truth.com. Was pretty shocked at what the facts were saying when plotted on a factual map. I now understand why this exhibition means so much to these guys. I would use any distraction I could to take my mind off of such a sad environment as well. With the high levels of poverty in this area it's not like they can just call the movers and leave. So losing themselves in a meaningless exhibition match-up doesn't seem so crazy to me now. Serious Q, how many of you are actually related(kin)? How many of you are related twice? Know that it's not your fault. After a few minutes of deliberation over this map I caught myself attempting to breath through my mouth out of curiosity and sympathy. It was awful and I honestly wonder how you guys can do it without even trying. RESPECT   :horrorsurprise:

Members of EMAW,

If and when any of you do find out that Mr. Jack Blasingame is indeed your father, I'll be handling any back child support claims you might have.

word of caution: Jack's assets are tied up in kind of a general lack of existence type of situation at the moment. So in the course of working with you on what child support you may be owed, it would be a good first step to meet with Jack and myself over lunch, paid for by you, so that you would first get an hour or so of time to spend with your father. Any loans you could provide would also be appreciated, and would go far in Jack's consideration of you in his will.

You could also gas his truck up for him after lunch if you don't mind.

All of this would/will certainly benefit you later. Now I don't see an emoticon above that can accurately describe the joy you will feel when spending time with your daddy, Jack, but it's close to the joy LHC Bill Snyder is feeling in that dancing Bill thingie.

This is a win-win for you guys. Don't eff it up.

I seem to detect that Yoga and Emo and Slobber are on the verge of apologizing.

Hasn't happen just yet, but it's on the tip of their tongues, I can feel it. They want to say it. They're getting ready to say it. Their eyes are moistening with tears of sorrow. Sorrowful are they. They are ashamed. Ashamed of the way previous EMAW brass treated Jack Blasingame, and ashamed of how they themselves were complicit. They poked fun and laughed as the admins held Jack down and tortured him and then locked him out. Ganged up on him. They remember the moment in the course of Jack's pain, they were laughing, heehawing, and then Jack yelled "FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yoga and Slobber and Emo were stunned. The entire massage board was stunned. All wishing that they had the heart of that lion Jack Blasingame. A man who truly lived, unlike themselves, who'd only wondered around in life, following others into Kansas of all God forsaken places. Meandering around this earth like old used vaginas, blowing in the Kansas wind, forgotten and cold and afraid.

Wishing they'd had the insight to realize they'd been in the presence of greatness.

Call me a yankee I guess, but I'm glad kansas doesn't have a huge inbreeding problem, seems like that would suck.

We've pretty much already established that the map is fake.

Long before Al Gore invented global warming, we folks in the south had figured out that it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter.  That may be a news flash to the prairie tard state, where I hear it snows in July and all that brown dirt turns to mud.

Look guys.  Little Buckwheat got some highlighters for his birthday.

Did a respectable job coloring inside the lines too!

What do southerners have against science? Hey guys lets all deny facts and proof then when we get done lets all go enslave millions of people 'cause we're lazy! Guess they hate morality too.

Here I am just trying to fit in on what seems to be a pretty decent football board and a mod tells me to drive off a cliff.  No wonder there are so few members.  Maybe they have all taken this advice and driven off a cliff.

I'll vouch for OTR and, heck, I'm one of those troublemakers.  It's in my blood and I can't help it.

But OTR's good folks.  He can talk X's and O's with the best of 'em and is even known to drop the occasional advice to Bert Bielema.  You prairie tards -- excuse me, Wildcat fans -- need to ask for a do-over and welcome OTR as he livens up this place in a respectable manner.

You're the kind of fan who probably cares more about what kind of snacks the team eats at halftime than what kind of formations the team lines up in on third down and what kind of coverage your team is in on in third and long.

Sounds like you have a bad attitude.  I don't.

I'll vouch for OTR. Take game day, for example. OTR goes and gets the story behind the story on game day activities. Things like, for example, half time adjustments. You betcha. OTR has the scoop all the way down to rehydration science and second half productivity enhancement through efficiency driven caloric intake needs. OTR also has a knack for game day meteorological impact insights and precipative statistics towards probable benefit and permutation outcome analysis. He also has a degenerate, compulsive gambling dog, which is always a plus.
