great concept of course, but my personal opinion is that the egg ends up overcooked into a texture and flavor only a scotsman could love

This is at one of my favorite bars, however...

Boil large egg for 6 minutes (not 7, maybe 5, haven't tried)
Chill in ice bath... (Most Important step) to get it cold so that the frying inside the sausage doesn't over cook the egg

Peel egg.
Flour egg
Wrap egg in sausage
Flour sausage
Roll floured sausage in breadcrumbs
Fry in oil until brown

never have had the opportunity to try one
it would have to be pretty damn especial to beat out a good over medium cooked in browned butter, or a properly prepared deviled egg

Those are both delish... But they don't include fried sausage

the ones i've seen had the yoke cooked more than your pic
i'm a lover of all things oospore, so i'm sure i would enjoy the scotch eggs.  but to declare them the uber ovum would be reckless.

I don't know what Scottish Eggs are, but that picture looks gross. I only clicked on this thread because someone mentioned it in the threads you don't click on thread, and now I regret it.

I love eggs and cook them daily with all kinds of stuff.  Those in that pic look like diarrhea inducing barf, though.  I mean, I am sure they taste good, and would probably be infinitely improved with some sausage gravy, but looks are not their thing.
