Me too. Either that guy is super clumsy, or he is some kind of zen master who understands that by not tensing up he is less likely to be injured.

:sdeek: he landed like 5-6 yds away.

The Michigan kicker is from Australia and his old Australian rules football coach said he probably tried to kick it and not fall on it because of his Australian rules football instincts.
-
The Michigan punter had an 80+ yard punt earlier in that game

Wouldn't MSU have been in FG range if he just jumped on it anyway? They were pretty screwed in any event I thought.

You understand the difference between a college kicker having to kick a 45+ yard field goal as opposed to a guy running in for a touchdown right?

If he had fallen on the ball, Michigan State would likely have had it on the 40 with 8 seconds left and no time outs left. So a 57 yarder to try and win the game.
-
Call me crazy, but I'd rather lose 55-0 than how Michigan went down. Poor kid.

It was an actual question. I didn't know the yardage. The ironic part is that if Michigan had been able to tackle the guy short of the goal line they would've won. Such a crazy ending.

That would be very tough.
The closest K-State things I can remember (pretty much all against Colorado)...
1) 2004 Klatt to Monteilh vs Elliot prevent defense.
2) 2005 Jermaine Moreira muffed punt.
3) 1995 collapse in the last couple minutes.
-
ummm 1998
second to that was marshall. that sucked and i got super sun burnt

I try to block that one.
Marshall was pretty bad.

Those were all bad, but I don't think we've experienced anything like this in football. The closest I can think of is the Pasco Fiasco (also Colorado!), but that game had far less significance.

True. The last moment nature is pretty rare.
McGrud's (almost) three vs Colorado is up there too for basketball.

Those were brutal. That juice muffed punt was like getting stabbed in the stomach. There was no moment to point to but the 2008 CU game was another of these.

It's ironic that, if Michigan had kept Michigan State from scoring a touchdown by tackling the ball carrier short of the goal line, Michigan would have won?
-
Ironic because if they tackle him at the 20 instead of the goal line Mich St has a better chance of winning.
-
this guy's news report was pretty funny.

Marshall was pretty bad.
The return trip to marshall was pretty much the exact opposite. They were within field goal range and could have kicked for the win, but ran one more play.... and threw an interception to the Cats. Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in that one.
