Title: Scribes Takeaways
Post by: troubledscribe on October 18, 2015, 11:57:43 AM
1) Burns gets beat on nearly every play the last two weeks.

2) Shelley covered westbrook and looked really good. Even when he was beat, he came back and made a play on the ball.

3) Burton is the worst WR ever. Can't catch and won't layout for a pass. He never shows improvement in games.

4) #10 on defense has no idea what is going on.

5) Playcalling, not much to say.

6) Hubenor just doesn't have it. Doesn't have Cooks mobility, can't make short passes. I don't know what you do with him.

7) OU qb made our defense look like he was Boykin.

8) Will Davis might not even exist

Shelley seemed to be a bit of a bright spot.  He's clearly got ability and will get better with experience.

That play where Burton got loose in the first quarter looked like he just stopped running.  Not that I think he would have caught it anyway, but just awful all around.

Mix's takeaway:  we rough ridin' suck. Players are bad, coaching is terrible, execution is abysmal and game prepping may be non-existent.

I saw Duke sitting on the sideline at the end of the game looking like he was regretting his decision to come here and I don't blame him. Wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer.

Troubledscribe must have been one of those old people around me yelling at Burton when Hubener and Cook both overthrew him.

I saw a player sitting on the bench like he was concussed and had had a headache, potato pohatoe

I can't figure out what the hell has happened to Burns.  He has regressed.

Our wr's are not that good; Heath shows promise but that is about it.

I'm not going to say that our WR's are great, but I have trouble really talking crap on them when our QB's are as awful as they are.

Burton had a beautiful route where he was wide open and Hubener threw the ball to another zip code.

I mean that's where we are right now.  Those guys are getting thrown the ball with guys either draped all over them or in double coverage.  If they get open, the ball has about a 25% chance of being where it needs to be for them to even pray for YAC.

We knew Hubener was awful coming into this year, but this level of bad is pretty unprecedented.  I can't remember the last KSU QB that was nearly this awful.

I think we have to go pre-Snyder to be honest.

Geary made plays.

The national anthem was good.

I have no idea what we are doing.

I want to replace these guys (in order of importance):

1. Offensive Coordinator

2. Quarterback

3.  Defensive Coordinator

4.  Need a good linebacker

5. Need a good safety

6. Cornerback

7. Wide Receiver

8. Kicker

I actually think that both the offensive and defensive lines along with running backs are functional if we have decent play calling and more help around them.

I agree, it's not like these receivers are all conference but Hubener doesn't seem to throw a catchable ball on the short routes, he absolutely does not throw the ball with any touch at all.

He also seems to have tunnel vision and picks a receiver and is going to him no matter what. No progression whatsoever

Hubener is the worst. I called him Potzulak in another thread. I'm going to call him that the rest of the year

I remember Carson Coffman circa 2009 being quite horrible.

I'd prefer having him run this offense compared to bazooka joe

Was thinking the same thing.  Time for a Transfer/Save Yourself thread.

Srsly, if this crap goes on for the rest of the season I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the youngsters transfer.

Who would take these wayward feral Cats?  They have the taint of defeat on their backs through no fault of their own.

Well, Duke did get hurt, so maybe he was upset about that?
