Title: 96.6 million retired baby boomers apparently . . .
Post by: sonofdaxjones on October 02, 2015, 10:52:13 AM
of which 56.6 million are women.

Lowest work force participation rate since 1977.

Native born jobs down nearly 1 million in 3 months, foreign born up over 200K in same period.

Hope and Change America!

Goal of 1 million NEW manufacturing jobs by Jan '17 still needing 650K jobs created (Cat and others announcing layoffs).

No, it is a combination of:

1) students going to school longer (not necessarily a good thing)
2) aging population
3) more people retiring early
4) people losing their jobs at the tail end of their prime working years and unable to find new jobs
5) hangover from the enormous disability claims that were approved during the great recession (bad thing)
6) probably some others I don't know about

But this is largely explained by 1 and 2  Almost 1/4th of our population is 55+

yeah, in 1977 the boomers were all aged 13-31 (youngest boomers not working yet), now they are all aged 51-69 (oldest boomers are dead/retired)

Low wages and low employment population always happen after the democrats pass "sweeping" legislation. I'm fairly confident they do it to expand their constituency (i.e., losers)

It's really scary that basically one out of every two Americans you come into contact with supports the economic policies of the last seven years.  It is Horrifying that when confronted with the results, their support is unwavering.
