Title: Three Good Reasons to Attend a KU Football Game
Post by: bones129 on September 13, 2015, 12:37:21 AM
Here we go. ITT we post three good reasons to go to a KU football game. I'll start.

1. As a KSU fan, I'll always see a Cat win.

2. As a KSU fan, I'll see many, many reasons why they will never beat us again on the gridiron.

3. If the game is at KU, it gives me yet another chance to see how horrible the KU home game experience is.

Wouldn't go for any of these reasons. Setting might be close, but not really.

Besides these reasons why would you go? Certainly not the product on the field.

I'm going this year, and I will probably pay more for parking than to get my whole family into the game. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space for the kids to roam around. Just gotta avoid the student row, which can get a little ugly.

Do I guess my three things would be:
1. Really cheap to get in.
2. Good for kids.
3. Cats win.

1. You're a fan of the visiting team.
2. You'll get to see KU make at least one historically memorable mistake.
3. You can buy the cheapest ticket available and know by the second quarter you'll be upgraded to a big-donor alum seat status.

Does Taco Johns or anywhere else still give away tickets?  I want to take my kid so she knows what it looks like when you don't go after your dreams.

I've gone before when we weren't playing the Hawks. It was a bye week for us so I wasn't missing any of our action. Three reasons:

1. Some friends were at the game for a bit

2. Free ticket

3.  Football is still football

To be fair, three reasons is kind of stretching it.

Remember when you were young, and you used to pop in your EA Sports NCAA football game into your playstation or xbox (we're going old school here).  And you would pick your favorite team (GO CATS!) and then you would set the computer difficulty to rookie just so you could run all over the other team and run up the score and pad the stats as you sail to an easy victory?

That's why you go to a KU game.  Except you're always the away team, and KU is the team stuck on rookie settings.

Some of these reasons aren't very good and aren't very TSC.

I used to always pick one of the worst teams and make them into a powerhouse so I could feel like Snyder.

Imagine how awesome that would be to do with KU if they made the game this year. You could be the Legend of Lawrence

1.  You buying a ticket is investing in the future of the Big 12 conference
2.  A downtrodden football player on the field having a bad day would look up and see you and be temporarily cheered up that you're there
3.  Then permanently saddened by your purple outfit, then determined again to do better which means everyone wins

We used to do the same thing in a multiplayer season.  Can't remember how many times Idaho or San Diego State won a national championship.

Yes! Idaho was the go to many times. Also loved when new teams got added. Western Kentucky's first year in the game was so great.
