I would have said that about this week. Not sure why Jones got the nod. I suspect Silmon has not done very well with blocking in practice.

Saving him for big12 play.

While I've not reached out to confirm it, this is the most likey scenario... As both Silmon and Warmack are RS Frosh, they are probably still working to pick up blocking and blitz pick-up responsibilities.

this is pretty important with the way the Bazooka isn't afraid to check to going downtown

The scope of plays we have run with Silmon has been limited. If we expand him this weekend, i.e add some zone reads, ect. We will know he is setup to take over at Stillwater.

I wonder where the term "gets the nod" came from.  Is that how coaches used to tell people they were starting, just one head nod before the game? Did they shake their head at all the backups?  These are the things I think about sometimes.

Silmon is better at just running forward and doesn't try to be all fancy like jones. And thats what i like about him he locks in and runs. And that's why we should #startsilmon

That Silmon is too stupid to read/learn the playbook or that we can't teach him the playbook well enough?

Or inflexibility in adjusting to changing situations by the coaching staff.  Insisting on calling certain plays that are proven not to work is already a known issue with the OC's play calling.  Why is it a stretch to think that maybe they should also consider the personnel they have that's actually capable of making plays when they select plays...  Or maybe we can just continue to insist on slamming square pegs into round holes and then settling for less than we necessarily have to as a result.

Well the hyperactive Snyderites will assail you, but it's always seemed stupid that we can't roll with the hot hand.  But, that's not our offense!!!

I thought a refusal to care about blocking (thus almost getting Klein murdered in Miami) led to a benching, which led to Bryce opting to leave.  Not sure if that counts as running him off.

this is some epically discouraging crap to read. especially taken in totality. my insider tidbits former team member guy says part of the discouragement is not just guys destroying their bodies for little reward, but that snyder doesn't ever come out of his office. like, and this is a direct quote, "snyder doesn't even know half the team, like their names, or anything about them."

That game, as they all have been for the last 3-4 years, never had any chance of going off-script.  The entertainment to be had was watching #KSTATEO react on twitter and observing the seattle hipster ufc fans.

lol, all so true. also, i had forgotten about the ufc crowd slowly encroaching and then swallowing us. that place appeared to be closed when i recently walked by. dunno, it's probably being turned into a condo or gastropub/sushi house right about now.

I've been hearing for over a year now that it's on death's door but it's def still open.

Some good findings from just now as I double-checked:

Quote
95 Slide has managed to hold onto some of its velvet rope and dance club roots with an emphasis on reserving VIP tables for popular events like ultimate fighting that moved beyond the more traditional sports bar fare of the NFL, etc.

http://www.capitolhillseattle.com/2015/03/95-slide-corner-the-next-on-a-busy-block-to-become-home-to-mixed-use-development/

Quote
My favorite thing about 95 slide is that it beholds a quality that 99% of bars in Seattle couldn't buy: an atmosphere of chaos. I've seen a few fights here and let me tell you; when I saw it I felt ALIVE. I thought "this is MY kind of PLACE. This sissy-poo city with boys wearing their little sister's apple-bottom jeans still has some fight in it." The kitchen is disgusting, the bathrooms are falling apart, the place just smells like a goddamn good time. You walk up those stairs to the patio and hope 2 or 3 or 30 people are up there kicking the crap out of each other. 95 slide you have never let me down  Thank you, 95 slide. Thank you for giving this frothing, sports betting, cigarette smoking cave people a place to get out of the sun.

fwiw, I'd had former players always mention that Snyder went to great lengths to know each and every player.  Granted this was a mix of Synder 1.0 players and first couple of 2.0 year's players, so it might just be a signal of age related mental decline :-(
