May break the touchdown record this season, Dana will give him all the touches inside the 5.
-
I'll allow it
-
Really like the dimel and gronk duo (every white guy ever)
-
I'll allow it
The other RBs might not though
-
Family, tho
-
No wonder CJ isn't running hard
-

Yup, too bad they're white.I would like to be happy for them.
-
I think we could (and may already have) roll out a snow coat on offense
-

Will be Varsity Bluing it up......
-
I realize it was against the South Dakota defense, but that game made me very comfortable with our running game going forward. I'm excited to see it put to the test.
-
Charles Jones gotta get up outta here tho
-
WD in the wildcat would be fun.
-
Charles Jones gotta get up outta here tho
He will play. I think he learned a lesson on stutter stepping tho
-
Too bad his jersey number is 38. If it were #40 then we could nickname him WD-40. I would have gotten a kick out of that.
-
WD in the wildcat would be fun.
I'm sure we'll just see him at QB soon. #FAMILY

I liked 32 seemed quick and elusive

I miss the zombie formation.
-
could run the triple option with hubner/delton, dimel/gronk, (insert rb here). Just bludgeon the other team to death. I'd prefer hubner take the brunt of the work in the non con/ shitty big 12 games so delton can play the important games relatively healthy.
-
:curse:
This is going to be an issue if Bill can't get a handle on it but I'm sure it puts him in a bad spot too because he's watched Winston grow up. It's human nature for all of the other running backs to get pissed.
-
I think it's annoying and predictable :garr:

So was our entire 2011/2012 offense.

Dimel is a good football player IMO. I don't think he's just playing because he's the OC's son.
-

I think he's decent myself. But he seems to get a high percentage of the carries near the goal line

I assume there is a reason for that aside from family relationship though. Unlike some of our runners, Dimel has not come close to coughing up the ball that I can remember, and he showed some nice moves on that long reception today.
-
Which of our runners have a history of coughing it up?
-
I like Dimel a lot. Not as much as our OC likes him though.
-
Which of our runners have a history of coughing it up?
Hasn't Bazooka Joe fumbled at least twice already this season (losing one)?
-
I don't like Dimel running the ball more than 2-3 times a game. I think he's a slightly worse version of Gronk but he just gets his number called more often for some reason. :dunno:
-
i don't see anyone complaining about the bone crushing lead blocks that winston delivers for his fellow ball carriers
-
If i made a list of things that made me mad today, this would be fairly low. I do want Gronk to be a super studly football player tho.
-
i don't see anyone complaining about the bone crushing lead blocks that winston delivers for his fellow ball carriers
I think he's a really good FB, but his touches are out of hand. I even wouldn't mind if he got most of the short yardage carries, but anytime we got in 1st & goal, even from 7-10 yards out, Dimel got the ball nearly every single time.
-
Dimel is a good football player IMO. I don't think he's just playing because he's the OC's son.
Literally no one thinks this
(https://realitybloger.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/strawman-full.jpg?w=600&h=292)
-
ya know, I think I completely understand where Dana is coming from on this deal.
Even tho he has coached at KSU for decades, OC'd a couple of the most prolific offense in school history and done most of the heavy lifting in DOD 2.0 he's got no chance for the HC job with the AD (because Dallas hotel rooms) or endorsement from Bill (because Sean) so what the hell, run the TDimel package ever-y-time in the redzone.
-
Between garnering the false start penalty, and then getting dinged, I don't think Gronk helped himself get some extra snaps today.
Doesn't help that Hubes seems to be pretty twitchy throwing short balls (doing classic Snyder first year starter and underthrowing to avoid interceptions - afraid of making a mistake), which it seemed that was going to be a priority to use Gronk for this year.
-
Dimel is a good football player IMO. I don't think he's just playing because he's the OC's son.
I totally agree. What's the beef?!
-
Do ppl like gronk because of his name or the little ding passes that Dimel setup for him the last few years?! :dunno:
-
I guess I don't understand the hate for Dimel. In a pretty limited offense, he's got some nice tools.
-
Maybe I should re watch varsity blues tho.
-
Dimel's my guy on the my guy list, so I'm enjoying the ride.
-
Maybe I should re watch varsity blues tho.
This. So much.
Also, I think Gronk is faster. Pop pass yesterday would have been six.
-

I probably shouldn't be but I'm stunned that people can't get past "you don't like him or you just think he is playing because he's the coaches son."
-
on good football teams, every player has a specific role. player dimel's role happens to be to score all the touchdowns.
-
I mean, he's not awful guys. He's pretty decent for a FR. :dunno:
-

Who the hell said he was awful? You realize he's competing with a 1st team all conference and two other redshirt freshmen right?

Everyone agrees that Charles Jones should get less carries, do you see those numbers?
-
it speaks volumes about how derpy our WRs are when winston dimel is our leading receiver.
-

I didn't say anything about his dad coaching. WD is a great blocker. He's a wrecking ball at short and goal, but my first thought about him taking all the short and goal handoffs was varsity blues. I know it's not a racist thing, Jones took them all last year, it just came to mind.
All I said was Gronk is faster. In space Gronk wins the foot race, at least from the eye test, and should be the one recieving passes out of the back field. For all we know, the pop pass wasn't even the call from the sideline, could have been a check off.

"preseason 1st team all conference". No one values a FB in this conference, besides K-State, so it's kind of a moot point. I've never understood the "this coaching staff has an agenda on who they play" crowd. I seriously think they have a better observation than the "I sit at my desk daily, but I love rivals stars and celebrity name" crowd.
-
The last couple of years everyone is complaining we don't have a big back at the goal line. Now we have one who runs hard and we have people complaining about this. Seems like we have some people who just like to complain. I would like to see Silmon get more looks all over the field as he looks like the best back we have.
-
I'm surprised the o line even blocks for daddy's lil boy.
-
Dimel had the biggest play of the day and we have a thread to crap on him.
-
No one is complaining about Dimel. If anything we are complaining about the way he is being used by Dana while Silmon and Gronk are pretty much relegated to second tier status.
-
The things our coaching staff seems to value as they become increasingly risk averse just aren't that great for generating excitement.
-
Nobody is shitting on Winston Dimel, they're shitting on Dana Dimel and his mismanagement of talent.
-
Dana isn't doing anything his boss doesn't do himself and fully condone.
-
I wonder what other things Dana Dimel has horrible taste in.
-

That's a lot of words when you simply could have said "you think you know more than LHCBS?" If you don't think there are agendas at play please explain Charles Jones to me.
Dana isn't doing anything his boss doesn't do himself and fully condone.
100% agree, I don't think they are doing this with any malace or intent. Dana is playing his son and Bill has watched the kid grow up, I am not sure if they are capable of evaluating this with clear eyes.
If Winston broke the single season touchdown record and went on to break the K-State career touchdown record and in 6 years ended up in the Ring of Honor I'll be immensely happy for him, I just don't want all of this to come at the expense of sensible play calling and harmony within the team. I'm guessing this started to take form in the spring and it's why Warmack essentially bounced and came back.
-
i like to think when we get the ball near the goal line dana's like "ok 1st down, hmm...ok i guess lets give the ball to that young fullback we got...what's his name...uhh.." and bill's like "winston?" and dana's like "winston? is that his name? anyhow that kid knows how to run! ok let's give it to 'winston' on two on two"
-

After Winston's pop pass it took them long enough to get the play in where they very well may have had this conversation.
-
I think Jones gets the start and bulk of carries(for now) because he has more experience/snaps within the offense. That being said, Snyder has been quoted that he needed to step it up or he would see his carries diminish as Silmon/Warmack proved themselves... Granted he didn't say that verbatim but he did allude to it which is rare for him
-
I think Jones is giving his all and that's the problem.
-
Jones has been far worse than Dimel this year.
-
Jones has been far worse than Dimel this year.
Yeah, jones should carry the ball 100% less, Dimel should still get meaningful carries
-
I have some faith the next 2 games are going to be the Silmon/Warmack tryout for Jones job in confy play. Way too much pressure on Hubes to move the ball on the ground by design or otherwise in the 1st half Sat
-

I have no confidence that Jones will go from starter to the fourth RB, where he should be, in just one game. He's a lot more likely to start. I doubt what we saw on Saturday was any different than what happened in the spring game or what has been happening in practice the last 2 seasons.
-
I guess I don't understand the hate for Dimel. In a pretty limited offense, he's got some nice tools.
From what I have seen he isn't a very smart runner. He just puts his head down and bulldozes forward. The time he tripped over the lineman's feet was very . So, I would much rather see Silmon running the ball outside the redzone. Then when we can smell the goal line, smash Dimel through it.

When Jones first started playing, he tended to hit holes quickly and get vertical consistently for positive yards, especially in wildcat plays. I know he was pretty banged up by the end of last year and since then he's tried to spin and bounce plays to the outside and he simply doesn't have enough speed to do that. At this point there is no way a more thorough knowledge of our offense and/or pass protections warrants starting him or getting more carries than Silmon or Warmack. And any wildcat package this year should simply be plays or series where we insert Delton. Unless Jones figures this out, there isn't much reason he should be on the field. My impression also was that Silmon is a bigger back, but according to the roster he's not. However, Jones is taller and leaner while Silmon is a thicker, more compact runner.

I want him to score 35 td's this year.

Mods please change this to the "Winston Dimel Nickname Thread" thanks.
I think "Dimel Dozer" is good too. Since we'll use him like Blake Bell. . .and I really enjoy alliteration.

He's garbage.

:dubious:
Earned that start, huh
-
Would have been a TD if we just kept giving it to Silmon. :dubious:
-
Is it too late for Dimel to medical redshirt?
-
Clearly the fumble is on Dimel. That's a pretty terrible mistake and the OC son as the red zone back package must be rethought.
-
Would have been a TD if we just kept giving it to Silmon. :dubious:
Silmon needs to be the guy.

He's running ball great then we take him out. Very frustrating. We are over thinking this. Just keep Silmon in damn game.
-
Why in the eff does Dana Dimel hate Silmon so much?
-
Bryce brown couldn't get on the field because of a couple fumbles. I wonder if the same rules apply to the OCs son.

Jones in the Wildcat. What the hell are we doing?

To be fair, brown wasn't interested in blocking either.
But, point still valid: dimel should ride some pine

We are afraid to run Hubener. Don't want to burn Banks' redshirt.

This is part of it.
Also, it's dumb to do Wildcat when you break the huddle, come to the line of scrimmage, and then take your time to run a play. You take away any gap advantage you gain by taking time and allowing the defense to bring additional guys to the box and check to run blitzes.
-
It's ridiculous to run the wildcat on 3rd and 3

The Wildcat was great when Daniel Thomas ran it.

I'm changing the title of this thread
-
Dana tried to kill that drive, too.
-
Why does he do this? I just can't figure it out
-
If Silmon needs a breather and we are in the redzone, we should just burn a timeout. He has to be on the field.
-
I don't give a damn if it's Winston, Gronk, Braden Wilson, who the eff ever, using a fullback like that is moronic.
-
Dana Dimel is killing this program.
-
Heh.
-
He does it again!
-
Just terrible play calling there.
-
Good job not trying for the first down that last drive, Dana. :'bye cruel world:
-
I have little faith in Dana in a situation where a score on every posession matters.

Thank God Skip Holtz is even dumber than Dana.
-
Dana Dimel should resign.

Fire up the Fire Dimel banners

If the wildcat is never ran again, it will still be too soon
-
You guys should have been tweeting with me in Twitter. I had a couple Dimel zingers.
-
I think Dana should incorporate some Friday Night Lights training to improve Winstons ball carrying skills. #billingsly #timmcgraw
-
Charles was the best back today, by far!
-
Dimel is horrible, he was horrible during Snyder I, I don't care if the calls went through Snyder then, Snyder probably bailed his ass out.
You've get Del and Dana and that LB coach sitting up there like they just made their 3rd trip through the buffet line.
-
the Family Fullback has now put Dallas Hotel room ahead of Dimel on my hotlist
-
BV remains at #1 btw

Did he touch the ball after he coughed it up on the goal line?
-

He he had one more carry. They used he and Gronk together a couple times, but Gronk was the big tailback for a carry. I also noticed Gronk had multiple snaps lined up at tight end.

Gooch reported that section 20 was on board the Dana's a dumbass train. When leaving some guy sarcastically said to me "you called a great game today." The only thing I shouted out loud the entire game was "Dimel's gonna fumble" right before he fumbled. Oh and I yelled at those racist idiots in section 19 who wanted Win to get Silmon's touches in overtime.

We should have an old player buy a gE locker for a current player that doesn't have a father-coach.
Through K-State Athletics’ new locker campaign, current Wildcat football players are given the opportunity to connect with the past – an opportunity numerous members of the K-State football family have gladly taken part in.
“It has been great to see the tremendous response from our football alumni who have given back in support of their program,” said Matt Giller, K-State’s Assistant Director of Development. “With over 300 members of the Golden Cats and the 95 individuals that gave to this campaign, it truly represents what the word ‘Family’ is all about.”
The campaign is bringing former players together, reuniting old teammates and creating special memories for fathers and sons.
Dana Dimel, K-State’s co-offensive coordinator who played for the Wildcats from 1984-86, and his son, fullback Winston Dimel, share a plaque on Winston’s current locker.
“It’s really special because he played here and now he coaches here, so he’s been through everything,” explained Winston about sharing his locker with his father. “To now to be able to go through what he went through and to be able to go through it with him, that’s pretty special. To see his name up there with mine, it really means a lot.”
Like the Dimels, other father-son duos also donated to the campaign and have their names displayed together. Sean Snyder, K-State’s associate head coach and special teams coordinator who played for the Cats from 1990-92, and his son, Tate Snyder (2010-14), share a locker, while K-State radio color analyst Stan Weber (1980-84) and his son, Stanton – currently a K-State wide receiver – also share a locker.

Is Tate Snyder the only player in K-State football history to be on scholarship for 5 years without ever seeing the field? The names of players who got tackles for K-State from 2010-14 is hilarious. The list is comprised of names like Tyler Lockett, Cody Whitehair, Jarvis Leverett, Charles Jones, Daniel Sams, Kip Daly, Anthony Cantele, Clarance Bumpas, Marc St. Felix, and Dalton Converse. You know who isn't on the list of players who recorded at least a half a tackle from 2010-14; five year letterman linebacker Tate Snyder, that's who.
-
Tuition is expensive brah. Sean has got to save all the cheddar he can cause will Bill kicks over he will be out on his ass.
-
I didn't even notice the "2010-2014" notation after Tate's name. Doesn't that paragraph imply Tate still has a locker currently?
Maybe it's Sean's locker and Tate is the former player who bought it and stuck his own name on there.
It's like that thing you hear about how tragic it is when a father outlives his son.

Maybe they're just idiots and not actually racist.
No no, they're confirmed idiot racists. One of them openly flaunts the KKK.
Where approximately are these bigots in Section 19? I'm in 20 but am half deaf and need guidance in who to hate.

i went and visited MIR and gooch in their seats (because stevesie was there once). the racists are in row 8 seats 1-3.

Too bad his jersey number is 38. If it were #40 then we could nickname him WD-40. I would have gotten a kick out of that.
Thx kst8lukecat.

The people behind me and my parents in section 19 are the worst people ever to sit next to.
I'm in row 34. Come say hi whenever.

You guys need to move on down to section 23, plenty of good confirmed #1fans and gEcats down that road.
