Title: THE OFFICIAL 2015 K-State Cats Season Prediction Thread
Post by: cas4ksu on August 27, 2015, 06:50:45 PM
Fellas, it's time to go on the record and say what you think OUR Cats football team's record will be.

Anything you have said in previous discussions about your season prediction is now thrown out. This is the end all be all, if you will.

Have at it:

vs. South Dakota
@ UTSA
vs. LA Tech
@ Ok. St.
vs. TCU
vs. OU
@ UT
vs. Baylor
@ TTU
vs. ISU
@ KU
vs. WVU

vs. South Dakota: W 42-7. Great game to start with. Bad FCS team gets the Cats off to a 1-0 start.

@ UTSA: W 35-21: Not a great game for our Cats but we shake off a slow start and get the W. UTSA played Arizona close last year but they only return 6 starters. 2-0

vs. LA Tech:  W 28-10 LT is a good team. Could win their conference. Ertz starts to settle in as a starter and the Cats finish the non con with a perfect (3-0) ! record.

@ Ok. St. : W 35-31 I'm not buying the OSU hype. They loose Tyreek Hill and suddenly they will be a better team? But we have had a lot of trouble against Okie State on the road. Haven't won there since 1999. But... BUT! Behind a big game from Justin Silmon the Cats pound out a win.  4-0

vs. TCU: L 24- 34: Gameday is in town. People are jazzed. Jonathan Banks makes an appearance in the Wildcat. The Cat defense plays its best game of the season. However, Boykin leads the Frogs to a narrow victory as they kick a field goal in the final minute to ice the game. 4-1

vs. OU: W 34-33: Bounce back week. Cats are in another nailbiter but are on the right side of a GW FG kick as McCrane nails one from 43 to beat OU. 5-1

@ UT: W 31-14: QB situation is bad at UT. We own them. 6-1

vs. Baylor: L 28-44: Huge game. But Baylor has our number. They get out to a quick start and never surrender the lead. 6-2

@ TTU: W 41-35: Tricky game. Swagwood can't beat Snyder in Lubbock. Ertz gets injured and Delton provides the offense in a win. 7-2

vs. ISU: W 38-14: Paul Rhodes is fired after the game. 8-2

@ KU: W 52-12: Kansas State beats the worst team in the history of the Big 12 by a comfortable margin. 9-2

vs. WVU: W 31-30: McCrane with a walkoff. Holgo suffers in misery. 10-2

7-6 w/ a Bowl loss

the offense will be yuck

11-2

TCU loss, bowl loss

Defense will be solid (still not disciplined/athletic enough to contain the dual option threat/TCU Off) and Offense will be fine.  Lose in a high profile bowl game, PW makes a video about how mad he is at LHCBS.

Wow.  Perfect timing.  My PredictoBot2000 just got a new OS installed last night.  PredictoBot was the secret to my success in predicting the 2011 season EXACTLY right.  But I don't need to remind you guys about that.

I put all the relevant #data in and here's what PredictoBot2000v.3.3 spit out for our 2015 Cats:

vs. South Dakota:  W 42-13
@ UTSA: W 34-21
vs. LA Tech: W 31 - 20
@ Ok. St.: L 30 - 24
vs. TCU - L 48 - 17
vs. OU: L 34 - 28
@ UT: L  27 - 21
vs. Baylor: L 52 - 31
@ TTU: W 38 - 34
vs. ISU: W 34 - 17
@ KU: W 51 - 17

vs. South Dakota - Bad team, easy win W
@ UTSA - terrible team, easy win.... even in a dome W
vs. LA Tech - bad team, easy win W
@ Ok. St. - coinflip game that the 'Cats lose because it's on the road L
vs. TCU - cover the kiddies's eyes L
vs. OU - Snyder has Mike Stoops seeing cross-eyed already W
@ UT - 'Cats struggle to score on the road L
vs. Baylor - Baylor out-athletes K-State L
@ TTU - Kingsbury W
vs. ISU - bad team, at home W
@ KU - terrible team, W
vs. WVU - at this point in the season, WVU gives up W

When I look at the 'Cats roster, I think they're a 7-5 team. When I consider the matchups, I see them at 8-4...... I'm probably giving them too much credit, and they're likely a 7-5 team.

Fair point, but that team also has Daniel Thomas. Which of our offensive skill players is anywhere near his talent level?

The QB situation is more similar to 2009 and that team only averaged 23 ppg.

None proven. People who are worried about these receivers can take solace in the fact that the leading receivers on that team were Adrian Hilburn and Aubrey Quarles.
