With loud talkers? I mean, what's the deal? Do they think we can't hear them, are they deaf, I mean, why are you shouting on your phone?! What's the deal?!

Typically the loud talkers I work with don't hear well so they assume the person on the phone can't hear them so they talk louder. I have a girl 6 desks down that I could probably hear from across the street. LOUD TALKER

They say it has something to do with being the youngest sibling and always having to try to talk over your brothers and sisters. This coworker tho is from Jersey and I think that's just in her blood.

I am also occasionally loud when in areas with a lot of background noise. I have always had issue hearing ppl right next to me in areas like that. It's like I can hear everyone in the area except those I am talking to. I think I talk loud to overcome that, but most ppl don't have the same issue, I guess.
-
Most loud talkers either fall into the drunk or deaf categories. Not deaf as in deaf-mute, but deaf as in hearing loss.

with my normal speaking voice, i talk too softly. which is something i've learned about myself, so sometimes i try to correct the problem and speak louder. but then it feels to me like i'm shouting and i hate doing it. so mostly i just talk too softly and it's someone else's problem.
-
when i talk, people listen, so i really have no need to speak loudly
