Undercover agents pass weapons through security checkpoints in 67 out of 70 tests.

Yeah, we should just get rid of them entirely.
-
I went through security at ORF 3 times in a 10 minute span last week when I was getting bounced around on flights between UA and AA. TSA Pre is amaze.
-
Did pre check this week. totally amazeballs.

Yeah, we should just get rid of them entirely.
No, we should just focus them on worthwhile pursuits, like profiling and questionning, instead of patting down grandmas, making everyone take off their shoes, and seizing all those 5oz tubes of toothpaste. It's a joke.

I think we should just let the airlines provide their own security like a free society would do. Letting the TSA profile and question for no good reason is just libtarded.

Well, maybe, but I'd be a little concerned about terrorists turning planes into guided missles if some cut-rate carrier decided to do away with security. That affects a lot more than the people who choose to fly that airline. I'd be cool with turning security over to independent contractors, though.

I think terrorists are just about as likely to turn your airplane into a guided missile with current security measures as they are with no measures at all.

Yeah.

I don't have to take off my shoes :gocho:

secure the borders! :curse:
-
Considering the billions of hours wasted in line with tsa and their sole purpose on earth, it seems unusually ignorant to downplay this, even for the pit
-
Probably a lack of funding.
congress! :curse:

Blow the doors off this thing FSD!

Thanks for the authorization, S. Dave
67 out 70 weapons were brought through tsa?????? Are you rough ridin' kidding me????? These people have billions of dollars of equipment, police style uniforms and thousands of trained employees. Their sole existence on earth is to identify concealed weapons, and they can currently do that at about a 3% success rate. The rough ridin' sky cap could do that.
Burn this mother mumped down.

It's a shitty job that we can't hire illegal immigrants to perform. If anything, it's surprising that they found as many weapons as they did.

Shut up.

Isn't there a pretty big difference between shitty security and no security? And GMAFB with bullying and intrusive, you cranky old men.

[/quote,
Apparently not. But to your point, we could downsize tsa to a day job for bouncers and it would have the same effect.
-
It's an egregious failure that should be ridiculed and laughed at. When that's over it should require a crap load of people being canned and holistic reform.
-
My $60 p/mo ADT system went off 3 out of 70 burglaries. Works great. If I didn't have the system installed who knows how many burglaries I might have had.
-Chum
-
I see it as a totally acceptable failure rate for a government run program staffed by union members.

Everyone on those staffs should definitely be canned.
I like the day job for bouncers route. Except they would get all Fitz on young girls by requiring a pat down.

i heard a guy (on NPR) taking the "it's not as bad as it looks" stance. His points were that these were trained operatives, intimately aware of the specific weaknesses in procedure and equipment capabilities and they didnt have the chance to be prescreened or racially profiled like they would when trying to intercept real terrorists.

Seriously?

Like, cops don't exist solely to catch people breaking laws. They also function to deter and make it more difficult for people to break laws.

it was seriously what this person said. i think he was some former tsa director or HSA official or something
-
Just how bad at their job are those 3 agents who got caught? That has to be embarrassing for them.

I wonder if the three that were caught were attractive women, who were therefore subjected to an additional patdown? Without more information, I think this is the most plausible explanation.
