He took his unofficial visit to KU with Peters, was at Peters' announcement today, and texted Shay right afterwards.  KU will be very tough to beat.

ben, i like you.  i mostly like the way you post.  but, let's be honest you're not great at deciphering the difference between genuinely positive ku news, and smoke being blown up your ass.  i mean we're like 2 days away from when you were running around excited about jones coming in for a last-minute visit.

be happy with peters, he looks like a really good player.

You are absolutely clueless.  At this point I'm wondering if you are even talking about the same Julius Randle.  Check out his profile on Rivals... KU is the only school even listed.
His rivals profile

Hey all,

I just exchanged a few text messages with 2013 prospect Julius Randle, the 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas. For those that don’t know, Randle is best friends with KU’s newest commitment, Zach Peters.

At any rate, Randle and Peters were in Lawrence for a visit when Kansas played Nebraska, and at the time, both had a long chat with head coach Bill Self. It should come as no surprise that Randle was at the press conference today and couldn’t be any happier for his best friend.

Considered to be one of the top players in the 2013 class, Randle is likely to have a ton of options to consider when that time comes. However, Kansas will be very tough to beat when all is said and done.

I will have much more in the coming days, but as it stands right now, Kansas is sitting pretty with Randle.

chenohawk.  a ku poster.  because i know he had access to good, relatively unbiased, info on the recruit you are interested in, and while he may put a little spin on it, he's not going to compete with shay in that regard.

Two things I have a problem with:
1) Being associated with a "recruiting" thread.  I thought those were reserved for homos that like watching High School boys basketball?
2) Being an "also known as" to the most sociopathic, ridiculous, relentless poster on the entire f*cking interweb

Do not like.  :curse: :curse: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:

I would like to start off by saying im a senior at Prestonwood Christian and have been Zach's team mate for two seasons now.

After reading through your thread on Zach i am shocked that some of you are not pumped to have him commited already to your school.  Lets first start with his physical skills, hes 6'9 and still growing...hes a big man who can shoot the three and hes incredibly strong.

Hes an extremely hard worker and i can assure you self has been to several of our practices this year, with Danny manning having been at like 15 games this season so the coaches know exactly what he can do...

He fields offers from KU, Kentucky, UNC, UCLA, Baylor, Texas, OU and Illinois..  not bad company... and yet some of you complain?

Oh and just for the record... my other 6'8 team mate (Julius Randal) a freshman rated fourth in his class, who has the same skill set as zach only slightly faster and maybe more NBA upside... ya you now have the inside track on recruiting him due to him and zach being best friends and wanting to play college ball together.

We have a kick ass program here at prestonwood and have more kids coming who will be highly recrutited nationwide and you now have the inside track to all of them...

be thankful and dont complain and call it a "reach"

Did CJ let him now about NCSt8 before his viz to ku?  Maybe he thought there was no room at the inn with CJ thought to be going to uk1, so at the time of his visit he was planning to just settle on uk2.

Per Evan Daniels tweets, TJ hasnt signed yet with Washington. Cal saw that and he called TJ right after the announcement, and now he is considering UK as well. That is crazy. Here are some of his tweets. Doubt he goes to UK, but if Cal pulls this one off.....

Jones had a conversation with Calipari. And Jones is "weighing his options" according to my source. A final decision could come tonight.     about 14 hours ago  via UberTwitter

Not sure if the Terrence Jones stuff is going to end tonight. Sounds like its going to be a tight race. One of the stranger things I've seen

RT @DaveTelep: T-Jones basically had a wedding, consulted a divorce lawyer and began dating again all in the same day

In gym watching games, won't be able to answer all these questions about Terrence Jones. Nothing new to report at this time.

http://highschoolsports.oregonlive.com/news/article/-5527447690561094052/terrence-jones-choice-of-washington-a-last-second-decision/

Quote
Though Jones listed Washington, Kentucky, Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma and Kansas among his list of finalists, he said the decision came down to Washington and Kentucky.

"I really came close to grabbing that Kentucky hat," Jones said.

lol.  they can't even get a moral victory out of this.

lol @ the ku bigs next year.

Marcus Morris was KU's leading scorer during conference play, and put up 18 points and 9 boards on K-State's frontline in last year's Big 12 tournament title game.

Reaping the benefits of having one of the nation's best big men taking pressure and attention away from him.

Aldrich was extremely limited offensively.

True! But to claim he didn't get a ton of attention is wrong!

I'm not saying he didn't attract a lot of double teams, but to act like the only reason Marcus Morris had success last year was because of Aldrich is ridiculous.  Morris improved a ton last year, and looked like the best player on the court at times.  The Morris twins owned K-State's big men last season.

Does his getting into an extended phone conversation with a goEMAWer whom Markeiff thought was a weed buddy factor into this at all?

Not really.  :dunno:

You asserted that one of these dumbfucks is better than anyone in KSU's frontline AND is the best returning player in the big 12.  You put a stat out that in your mind supports the former but had nothing to do with the latter.  When I asked what your stat was for the latter, you did this:

Marc. Morris is an avg. player.  Good mid-range game.  That's about it.

He's better than anybody on K-State's frontline.  He's probably the best returning player in the Big 12 next year.

The one who you say is the best returning player in the big 12 - what's your stat for that?  A comparison to Curtis Kelly isn't doing it for me.  Get your stats STRAIGHT, beems!

And for future reference, I'm never going to distinguish between them when it comes to attributing shootings, drug dealings or stautory rape to either.  Guess that's one of the downsides of being a twin in the goEMAW world.  On the plus side, they could probably get a way with stuff by confusing the cops as to who's who.  :dunno:

Jacob Pullen is by far the best returning player in the Big 12. Going 15-1 and beating KSU 3 times doesn't mean Marcus Morris is the best returning player. Team accomplishments do not have anything to do with the best returning player.

I thought this doucher crawled back under his rock when his team pre-came all over the place?

Just gonna throw this out there... Go look up David Lee's college stats, there pretty much Cole Aldrich's (you know, the guy you told us all was pretty limited offensively) without the blocks. Then when you consider the Bill Self MO is that of good in college/bad in the pros I don't think David Lee should be the comparison.

he's not a bad player, maybe comparable to spradling.  just seems like uf should be able to pull a little better at this point in time.  and to push him forward a year...  that just seems weird.

Looks to me like Billy D is taking some lessons from Disco Bill on the value a local white kid as a means to keeping NBA prospects around.  Is this kid's dad a business partner with shady developers or living next door to a big booster?

Since their alleged involvement with the KU scalping ring, the Pumps’ influence has continued to grow throughout college basketball. Their activities include scalping tickets obtained from coaching staffs, hosting a well-known and lavish annual charity retreat for coaches and athletic directors and operating “ChampSearch” – a consulting firm retained by universities looking to hire new head basketball coaches. Simultaneously, the Pumps finance multiple elite traveling summer basketball teams that showcase recruits, some of whom have ended up with the programs that the Pumps do business with.

“Roger Morningstar has coached some of those summer traveling teams, one of which included his son, Brady, who committed to Kansas in 2006. Since Jones, Freeman and Roger Morningstar allegedly engaged in scalping tickets through the Pump brothers in 2002, summer traveling teams financed by the Pump brothers have featured at least nine players who went on to play for the Jayhawks. Among them were nationally recruited players Mario Chalmers, David Padgett, Omar Wilkes, Tyrel Reed, Elijah Johnson, Jeff Withey, Travis Releford and Brady Morningstar.”

Class of McLemore at SG/SF
Turner at PG
Brown at SG
Chol/Wiltjer at PF

would be a fantastic class. This is assuming that Marcus stays for his senior year to play with his bro regardless of where he is projected. Really as long as you get Ben M this class will be awesome. 2011 equals not that awesome of a class and he is one of the bright spots for sure.

Lets update this. Because both our schools are already looking to basketball.
McLemore looks solid. Cant wait for the commit.
Turner committed to zona. - Quinn Cook is making the trip to late night but I am not sure about how strong KU sits with him.
Brown committed to Oregon - Again, McLemore will be a stellar SG.
Wiltjer committed to UK - not sure what to think of him as a player. Supposedly makes up for athleticsm with his basketball iq.
Chol - coming to LNitP - I would say he is a back up to Norvelle Pelle who is coming too.

New class that would be sweet.
McLemore
Cook
Pelle

Agreed on Cook. He is the longest of shots in the world of shots.  :drink:

Anyways - They are bringing in a few other guys, nobody as noteworthy. Looking like kansas should take what they can and stockpile schollies for '12. Know how Bill works, he will fill it up anyways and kick some poor schmucks to the curb next year to make more room.

But hey, the schmucks got to play at KU for a year. Everybody needs practice players.

Pretty sick offer list.  Can't believe he chose uk over Boston College and OU   :ohno:

How did they go from Austin Rivers and Quinn Cook to this guy?

Got it, you think Tharpe is sh*tty settle because of his offer list and lack of interest from real blue chips.  Tough break man, you guys will get back on top . . . probably maybe sooner or later

Yeah, that's why he had offers to Texas, Kentucky, UNC, etc.

:jerk:

Kentucky and UNC both have the same elements in their fanbase.

So basically what you're telling me is that the only reason a 6'9 240 sophomore who can shoot from three and was considered the #1 overall prospect in his class as an 8th grader has an offer anywhere is because he's white?

Holy sh*t, you people are beyond delusional.

Nash to OSU

From Phog...

From his facebook page (taken from another board)

"Lebryan Nash Its finally here im going make my decision on national tv on ESPNU at 4 yall record dis 4 me lol, Man I'm on another planet rite now lol just made up my mind rite now n it was hard to choose but i had to do this 4 me n my family real talk , I like to thank all the schools (FANS) that was there 4 me but i only can choose one. I, Lebryan Nash will take my game to -------------!!!!

Those hyphens add up to "OklahomaState"...also "KansasJayhawk", but that doesn't fit with the sentence.

Not giving up, as this seems a little too obvious and would completely deflate the hype of his announcement....but it's odd he chose that many hyphens.

there's a video of K-State vs OSU in football.  the announcer keeps saying "pistols firing" when they score.  it is kstateo level greatness.

glad that Nash saw the writing on the walls of Allen Field House and decided to take the high road and sign with a program that has some integrity left.  maybe this will be the new way of collegiate athletics and the histories of dinosaurs like UNLV, UCLA, other places that cheated a ton, and KU will only be told from reading their gravestones.

Norvel Pelle hates flyover country

Quote from: Pelle
“I have Washington next weekend,” Pelle said by phone Sunday night. “I’m just going with an open mind.”

Asked if those were the only two schools he was focusing on at this point, Pelle said, “Yes.”

Asked if he planned to sign in November, he said, “Yes.”
