Title: Addictions
Post by: BringBackEcoKat on April 23, 2015, 01:18:14 PM
Everyone has their vices so I was just wondering if anyone has any interesting ones? I, for example, am really addicted to claritin D. Addicted is probably not the right word.. But I feel that I can't get out of bed without it.

you're just addicted to the pseudo ephedrine part of claritan d. you should save yourself some cash and just buy straight pseudo ephedrine unless you actually need the allergy medicine.

I'm addicted to booze I think. Not like I have to have it everyday but in the way that if I'm doing anything leisurely I must have it. Like I'm terrified of how boring my life would be if I couldn't binge drink. I have a friend that had problems with booze and quit and I'm, like, we can literally never hang out again. I can talk to you from time to time but our activities are so polar opposite we cannot really enjoy each others company without me being incredibly bored or you being tempted to get blackout drunk.

I'm probably addicted to caffeine too because I drink so much tea. Although today I had 3 glasses of water instead of iced tea. Only had 1 hot tea in the morning and 1 glass of iced tea with lunch so far.

Maybe a shame yourself post, but I crush 3 sugar free red bulls every weekday morning at 4:30 and chase them w/ a black eye and 4 4mg nicorette mini lozenges.

But I'm thinking of switching to that butter coffee thing. That also sounds good.

Sadly I am at this point in my life too.  When I try to sleep in a little bit on the weekend my body revolts by having a headache that doesn't go away until I make some coffee. #chasingthedragon #Colombia'sFinest

the thing about the sudafed is that i think you have to buy it from the pharmacy counter and sign some log book everytime.  seems inconvenient and (maybe) embarrassing.  should you be ashamed if you're using it a bunch, but not making meth?  no right?

yeah, but you have to do that for claritan D already. I'd just pretend like I was cooking meth and like act all cool when buying it. they won't know you are just taking it plain.

i'd like to not look like i cook meth.  i want them to know i take it plain.  like look, i'm just a plain jane legal stimulant junky.  give me the stuff.  that's fine right?  i looked it up and it doesn't appear to be illegal in illinois as long as i only buy 7.5 grams of pe a month.

other than that, is there a downside to this i'm not seeing?  seems like a lot of people should be doing this.  it's better than just caffeine.  way better.

§ 40. Penalties.

(1) Any person who knowingly purchases, receives, or otherwise acquires, within any 30-day period, products containing more than a total of 7,500 milligrams of ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, their salts or optical isomers, or salts of optical isomers in violation of subsection (b) of Section 20 of this Act is subject to the following penalties:
(A) More than 7,500 milligrams but less than 15,000 milligrams, Class B misdemeanor

this is weird to me.  i can have some of it every so often, but not too much or i'm a criminal.  is there anything else out there like this?  i can't think of anything off the top of my head.

I've actually been denied my claritin a few times and have made family members go get some for me.. You're only allowed like one box a month when I use at least 2. In my defense, I do have super bad allergies. I probably don't need that much.. But the sudafed wakes me up because it speeds up the heart rate

i feel like if i go into a doctor that they would probably actually want me to have adhd in order to give me a prescription.  i do not often visit doctor's though so i could be wrong.

oh no, you don't have to have anything. they give you a form that asks things like "do you sometimes not concentrate on boring stuff?" and you check "yes".

the thing is don't you have to have a reason to go there in the first place or do you just drop by and pretend like "hey while i'm here mind if i fill out some forms and see the doc?"  i mean you have to make some kind of appointment to get in the door.

Caffeine, alcohol, cigs, and bbs'n. And I might be a sex addict too. :frown:

do you constantly jo to internet porn?  like it's a problem in your relationship.  because if you don't, then you're not.  slamming on a vag that you're committed to whenever you can does not qualify.
Lol. Nah. I mean I look at porn once and awhile, but not in a crazy amount of way. I just think about it all the time. High drive I guess.

you mean you're terrified of that happening if you don't drink or if you do drink?

If I completely stop drinking. Like I'd become "that guy"

the "you can have just as much fun not drinking" is only said by people who have either never drank or quit drinking for some reason to try and trick themselves. it's scientific fact that you cannot actually have as much fun not drinking. the same goes for almost all other drugs in responsible quantities. the science is settled on all of this stuff.

legitimate male "sex addicts" are exclusively pervos or outright sex criminals who ruin their lives with constant porn use and/or prostitues and/or rapery.  they're not just having sex with their girlfriend a bunch.

So real life Benja story: I was heavily reliant on prescription adhd drugs for awhile, and literally all I did was play call of duty, workout and go to the bars. I did almost no actual studying or normal human interaction of any kind. I hung out with almost 100% bros and wore a bandana at the gym one time. I would not recommend it.

yeah, I mentioned it before in this thread but people confuse addiction with having a problem (which is a different thread). there are a lot of awesome things to be addicted to out there. the key is finding them and getting as addicted as you can.

Quote
§ 40. Penalties.
(a) Violations of subsection (b) of Section 20 of this Act.
(A) More than 7,500 milligrams but less than 15,000 milligrams, Class B misdemeanor

this is weird to me.  i can have some of it every so often, but not too much or i'm a criminal.  is there anything else out there like this?  i can't think of anything off the top of my head.

i can buy as much caffeine or booze or ciggies as often as i want.  it gives me pause due to strangeness.  stupid rough ridin' meth people.

I believe firearms and ammunition fall into this category. Maybe not necessarily illegal but once you've got what big government deems a "stockpile" you're going to draw a lot of attention you do not want.

I've actually been denied my claritin a few times and have made family members go get some for me.. You're only allowed like one box a month when I use at least 2. In my defense, I do have super bad allergies. I probably don't need that much.. But the sudafed wakes me up because it speeds up the heart rate

you and your family member are breaking the law of the state of kansas.  you guys are probably on some meth task force watch list.  those exist.  they use the pill logs from stores.

I know that I'm on the watch list.. I've been thinking about making meth lately actually because I figured why not? I'm already on the watch list and I could use some extra tuition money.. Plus I got all the basics from breaking bad
