Title: online horserace gambling
Post by: Dr Rick Daris on April 11, 2015, 09:56:43 AM
wow what a treat. i stumbled upon one of these places that will broadcast a new race like every six minutes or whatever and you can bet on them. it's pretty hilarious. some of the races are short and some are long. some of them even have horses pulling chariot like things or horses jumping over bushes on the track. you're like oh ok i'll put a dollar on the 4 horse at 14:1 to win and then you wait for it to pop up and you're like oh man a grass track in australia. this should be interesting. it's quite the deal. i put in 20 and now i'm up to 95. am i some kind of horserace gambling savant or something?

next race is a long one (2200 yds) in south africa. no idea whether it's dirt or grass but it doesn't look like they're pulling one of those chariot things. anybody have any thoughts on the #1 horse at 9:1? it's name is silent treatment if that matters.

it's called derbyjackpot. i think there are other sites too though. also there are promo codes out there and i think groupon things too for this place.

silent treatment is now down to 7:1. i don't think i'll be it unless it goes back up. honestly though i'm looking and there are like 15 horses in this race. that seems like way too many. i think i'll sit this one out.

well you absolutely can. there's a little chat feature on the side that shows you everyone "at the track". some people even upload photos of themselves and stuff and seem to know each other.

i place mostly monkeys. monkey is to win, donkey to place and granny to show. i have no idea what the gonzos are but when i don't like any horse, sometimes i'll place a dime which is fun because you also get to spin a slot machine thing. also it's only ten cents and that's pretty good entertainment given the slot machine.

today they have some weird deal that i've never seen before where you get a free bet on a horse named american pharaoh. the horse is racing in arkansas at like 5pm or something. anyway, you can bet up to a ten dollar monkey and if he wins, you win and if he loses you get your money back. guess what i did? well if you think i'm going to say anything other than a ten dollar monkey on american pharaoh then you obviously don't know me and my horserace gambling strategies very well.

man i don't really know. i will say that i got a bonus too when i signed up but the bonus didn't show up for a while. like i think i had to bet ten dollars to get the ten dollars or something. could that be what's happening?

There's a real life place in omaha that does this. It's like dollar beers and terrible cheap food and it's like the only place in nebraska that you can still smoke at (or was when I went like 5 years ago). It's delightful and the clientele is exactly what you'd imagine they'd be.

i think i've been when i was a kid. also, i went to a horse track once when i was like 9 with my family somewhere in canada. my parents got the betting program and my sister and i (through my parents) put bets on horses all night long. was a blast. i mean i'm 9 and i'm betting on horses somewhere in canada. how is that not hilarious fun for a third grader?

Rick, my parents took me to the tracks when I was 6 in Texas. I told dad to bet on the number 6 horse and he said "Ok son, will do!". So as you could imagine, my eyes were peeled for the next race. Next thing they're off and running and wouldn't you know it, number 6 took the lead early. It was a close race, but number 6 never lost the lead throughout the race and #6 was victorious! Of course, I was jumping around in excitement, high fiving my bro and thinking I just made a fortune for my family. I look over at dad and he looks sad. I'm like: "Dad, what's wrong, we won!!!" He said: "Sorry son, I should have listened to you, I bet on #5 and we're done making bets for the day".  :frown:

So, are these races going on pretty much non-stop 24/7, or are there only certain time frames with action?

pretty much 24/7 i think, although i'm not really sure and i bet there are some times of the day where there probably aren't races. it gets kind of fun when they're doing different tracks at the same time instead of just race after race after race from the same track because all of the sudden they'll go from like chariot racing on dirt in france to some grass track in australia with bushes the horses have to jump over. all in all it's quite a hoot. i spend at least an hour or two a week on there, usually while also watching a royals game.

No, I am a special someone who makes me uncomfortable - INTJ.  We are very rare and most people don't know how to deal with us.

It's a relatively low rollover, 12X or something.    Like if you deposit 200 you get a 250 bonus but it gets released at 10% of the wager.

I've made like four hundred bets through the thing so I'm pretty sure I could collect my $47 in actual real American dollars if I wanted. am I going to though? that would be a big fat H to the E to the double LL NO!  :Woot:
