Title: Dylan Meier Memories Thread
Post by: DQ12 on April 20, 2010, 12:50:36 PM
This thread is where you can post your favorite Dylan Meier memories.

Mine was against Iowa State in Ames in '03.  We had the game in hand already and they put in Dylan to relieve E3.  He came in and ran an option and I thought, "Man, he's got Eric Crouch hips.  The kid is going to be a star."

Had similar excitement for Marvin Simmons that game too.

We should probably pay tribute to DM by having some relatively unathletic quarterback run the ball a lot this fall.

Touchdown pass just before halftime during the FresnoSt game in MHK. Fresno had been killing us, but Dylans' TD gave me hope...

Wait....

This news, if true, would be in direct contrast with many of the posts that I have read about the status of Dylan's immortal soul on another KSU site.

Maybe you should check your facts, Chum, before you go around throwing people's souls under soul buses.

Mine was during the 2004 MU game when he flipped off one of the Tigers. So great. Can we get a screenshot?

I always remember him coming in as a redshirt freshman in the 03 Marshall debacle. The team was down, the fans were stunned and he came in to relieve Schwinn and ran an over-enthusiastic QB draw right into his own lineman's back and fumbled.

RIP, Dylan. It should have been Schwinn. It should have been Schwinn. (https://goemaw.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.scout.com%2Fmedia%2Fforums%2Femoticons%2Fohlord.gif&hash=2ab41d4eae5573c387b9991865fe5b78a4e055ad)

Don't remember much of anything about Dylan Meier as a QB except that he wasn't black.
This is from a complete stranger that has never met, spoken to, or shaken DM9's hand....but was compelled to write a poem on the man.

In Memory of Dylan Meier

Dylan, you personified what a Wildcat is
Courage, strength, determination
You had all these skills
No one could take that away from you

No one could take away the heart you had
The love you shared
No one could take it away

But God called you away
He called for a greater purpose
To show us all that life is too short
Too short to just go through the motions

You showed all of Wildcat nation how to persevere
And now that perseverance has paid off
You’re up in Heaven with God now
Watching us

And when our time comes God will know what to do
He will bring us to reconnect with you

But until then your spirit will live on
Number 9, God Bless Dylan

and also that rock you were standing on

That's pretty dark, but true.

When he came in vs. OU in '04 and started dominating (hitting Figurs everywhere). Thought we had a chance for the upset. Then reality set in. :frown:

That's mine too.

Somewhat off topic:  Should mod-types be proactive in these cases and pre-sort two threads - one classless, one somewhat better - so that folks don't have to read certain stuff?  This thread is pretty damn meager.
