Didn't want him. Over rated. Clears space for Svi to take over and dominate college basketball next season.
I can't remember any game where he dominated or even had a memorable performance
We could certainly use him and I would think he would have to have improved if he stayed, but I'm really not all that sorry to see him go and for the life of me, just don't see all the pro potential he supposedly has. Also not looking forward to the daily Oubre NBA updates in here..."did you see his dunk in that 30-pt loss last night or the 1.5 rebounds he averaged last week?!"
Sadly, one of my last memories of Oubre is the Wichita State player making the comment of "This guy is supposed to be a lottery pick".
Well he can sleep as much as he wants to now.
Oubre will always be remembered for getting out hustled by WSU 2 stars. Happy trails bro.
Good call. By coming back, he'd be giving scouts more time to find holes in his game. The less they know, the better.
"Getting my degree from Kansas will be the biggest accomplishment of my life, bigger than making it to the NBA," Oubre said. "Having that degree is something you can look
back on and say 'I worked hard' to earn that."
Lol yeah right. Congrats. Hate it as much as anyone else but getting guys for a year and having them go Lotto only makes us attract more high level recruits. I just hope that the next ones can actually produce in March when it matters most
Well that was fun. I wouldn't mind if we never again got a one and done. Feel absolutely no connection to them. Like falling in love on a one night stand.
Hopefully now he can afford some decent looking tattoos.
I would say the chances of him falling out of the lottery are higher than him moving up in the lottery. This is a bad decision. He would probably be a much higher pick after one more year and it means that KU completely wasted their time with him. I understand the argument about getting to free agency faster but I don't think he's good enough to command some amazing contract upon hitting free agency as a young 20 something either.
I hope we can get some of the one and done prospects for next year, basically because the only option is them or a Naadir Tharpe or Anrio Adams type...but for 2017 I wouldn't mind Self recruiting a lot of guys in the 20-50 range. There is just no chance that Self end up with a system as efficient as Calipari's.

Congrats Oubre - Good Luck!
-
This kid is trending on twitter as well and the comments are disgusting. :frown:
-
KU fans really hate Oubre for chasing his dream.
-
I hear the gears on that bus grinding into reverse right now.

Tough to argue with this analysis
A bittersweet day for :tsc:

Vile actions from those "fans"
-
I wonder what Wayne Selden thinks of this decision...
-
Cliff wishes he had the opportunity to be jeered for leaving early. Self and crew ruined him before he had the chance.
-
I can admire Hooterville Bill and his prized chicklins, but spoiled greedy KU fans make me I'll. We would be thrilled if had a kid good enough to go to the NBA. If you don't like - Foster and probably Krap are available. How about Old Spice? Whiners not winners!!

The main reason he should stay because he's not good enough to sniff the floor right now in the NBA, he'll be stuck at the end of a bench. On the other hand, his current flaws are all things he could improve if he stayed at KU and played 30+ minutes.
Lame decision. Well thanks for the one season I guess... had some moments here and there but ultimately disappointing. And I think he's FAR from ready for the NBA.
Another one and done in the books, barely making a mark on the program. I may sound bitter but I'm getting a little tired of the whole one and done thing. but I know Self has to play the game to keep up with his peers.

So anyone here still disagree with me about doing away with the one and done project?
If you still do, please give me a reason why except for the "There's no way Bill Self can distinguish between the one and done recruit and the 2 or more recruit".
Tell me again guys how Bill Self lucked into his last 2 Final 4's both loaded with Jr's and Sr's.. I used to think KU could have likely beat UK in the National Title game in 2012 had McLemore not been forced to sit that season out. Hell, that may have been a blessing in disguise.
Nothing worse than a player being indecisive wondering if he should feed it to the NBA prima donna or take the shot himself.

Once the agent's check clears, I'm not really sure one has the option to return...

See ya in the D League
I'd like to say this isn't true... but i can't.
sad he will be reviled on this site forever now
what an embarrassing fan base.

Just wait until a bunch of wins are vacated because of Cliff and his family and the Big 12 takes #11 away from them.

It boggles my mind how so many people think that staying in college is the best way for an NBA lottery pick to become a better NBA player. If I was better at twitter I would crush Mike DeCourcy for his idiotic views on the subject.
-
Mike DeCourcy has proven time and again to be an incredible dumbass.
-
More like Mike DiCkourcy. pewpewpew

I've had the mind numbing stupid conversation with the ku tard who refuses to believe a player can better develop practicing 50 hours a week 52 weeks a year in the nba than 25 hours a week for 30 weeks in the college version of basketball. They done get it
