Title: Lone Star EMAWs
Post by: Bqqkie Pimp on March 17, 2015, 09:56:21 AM
If you hang your hat in the Lone Star State... This is the thread for you.

I know of a few of you that are down here, but there may be more.  Perhaps we need to plan a LoneStar PAK soon... I'll throw in some cash and beef if AST will smoke it up.

I went to a huge K-State watching party at The Fox and the Hound on Midway once.  I was amazed how EMAW DFW was.

100% agree that it's not far enough but there's a big difference in that 1 mile.

eff yes

Jacobs Well, Hamilton Pool, Blue Hole (Wimberley), Pedernales, Barton Springs. Need to hit McKinney Falls next.

Those places are a huge part of why I moved back here.

Are those places usually pretty crowded?

Jacobs Well and Blue Hole, not usually
Barton Springs yes always
Pedernales no
Hamilton Pool kinda depends on the day but it wasn't bad when I was there

That's good to know.  I may a trip down there to check some of those places out this summer.

In OK there's a place called Turner Falls.  It would be a really cool place if it weren't overrun with trashy people every time I've driven up there.

I'd get to Jacobs Well while you can. There's a huge water controversy in Wimberley over a drilling company planning to pump water over to Buda from the aquifer. It could really mess up the local water supply there and affect both the Edwards and Trinity Aquifer negatively, which could (maybe, studies are ongoing) mess up the Well.

Barton springs is great, I recommend the side you pay to get in.  The other side of the springs was just too austiny for me.  Water is cold AF just FYI.

I've been to several of them. My personal fave is Krause Springs.

Also just realized I've been to McKinney Falls State Park (I live really, really close by actually) but I somehow haven't jumped in yet. Think I might fix that this weekend
