And we won!
Ku playing slow, our missed layups and the refs giving ku a dozen-plus bullshit points are the only reason this wasn't a 20+ point route. Not to mention Foster being ice cold
-
Dax was right, this team is much better suited to run
-
66 possessions!

66 possessions!
it would've been closer to 70 if we hadn't been trying to kill the game off for the last 5:00.
The fact that we ran was so fun to see, but a reminder of how frustrating the coaching has been this season without even talking about Foster:
1) Pace
2) Nigel vs. Jevon
3) Tre

he's always right
-
I could only watch part of the first half, but goddammit that fast pace was nice to see.
-
Also, oscar hit Billy up with that pressure and got 4 points on a key possession in the first half. That was a great momentum changer after being down. Maybe his best move all season along with the safety in-bounds play.
-
I liked the way we attacked/split their hedges. They looked completely befuddled when marcus/Nigel would step through and attack the lane off of the ball screens
-
It was our best coaching effort of the year. but why did it take so long to install very logical fixes to some of our biggest problems? I am not talking about the coaches telling Nigel to score 20, I am talking about the inbounds play, the pace, the defensive pressure, the splitting of screens, the use of Tre etc.
-
I hope we continue running (except probably not a good idea against isu)
-
It's really a testament to what a over coaching control freak Weber is, and it's still a fireable offense IMO regardless of what happened last night. But Weber just took himself off whatever little bubble he may have been on with that win, which is sad.
The Captain Obvious point of the day is you don't overhaul what you planned on doing going into the season, just because you have a couple of rough games and turn the ball over a bunch.
-
The pace was nice and contributed, but getting these guys to play 40 minutes of defense won the game. Holding KU to .95 ppp was pretty impressive.

Thought they'd run out of gas before putting KU away, surprised Massa Seff didn't use his bench more than he did.

We contested well, didn't allow mason to penetrate and didn't give ellis a ton of easy kickouts on our double teams.
It's not like they were missing easy shots.

Bill had his fool's gold comment proven as well. (even though we also beat KU on 2s)

Every K-State fan with a clue should be pretty upset right now at oscar Weber and the way he's wrecked this season and took away this teams spirit at critical junctures.

I think we have been, especially the last 2 weeks.

There's lots of lurkers from the Tuck "you can't fire a coach" Nation crowd.

Of course, but all of us know he wasn't getting fired this year regardless of last night.
Now, he's got to maintain his roster and fix the issues he had this year and get us back to the tournament next year.
None of that takes away from my enjoyment of last night for the time being, there is still plenty of time to relive the disappointments of this season.

There's still a chance (yes, beyond "so you're saying there's a chance") to claw back on to the bubble. Very remote, and unlikely I know, but a chance none-the-less.
No reason to not go for broke and let the chips fall.

For my own entertainment, I hope we run against ISU. We did there(eye test) and got close. At home with something like 3-4 Sandstorms, we could tip the scales just like last night.
Fun basketball is fun, you guys.

oscar needs to pay homage to local Kansas boy Dean Smith and run the 4-corners for a few possessions.

This is home court advantage at play. Energy on defense is THE way a raucous home crowd can help a team.
