Title: Groundhog Day
Post by: rob mccolley on February 22, 2015, 10:53:06 AM
Here's the first time oscar employed the concept in a post-game comments (at 2:22).

He did it again yesterday.

Maybe he's not good at seeing the future, but good at recognizing it when it happens over & over again.

Oops, I was wrong. He actually said it the year before that as well.

Who is it who said there isn't enough info to predict Weber's course?  I think there might not be a more predictable coach in the game.

I wonder if he knows that he's used the Groundhog Day analogy on at least three different occasions.

It's like Groundhog Day.

What gets me worked up the most is his inflexibility to change up during a game. Perhaps go to a zone for just two possessions to change the look and create some uncertainty in the opposing offense. How about an occasional half court trap to create some havoc and an easy layup ? Nope !  Lets play that GD man-to-man and "guard" them and be rough ridin' predictable . I bet its easy to prepare for Bruceketball.

That would have cost $10 extra.

It's probably his only pop-cultural reference. I hoping he breaks out Throw Mama from the Train.
