Title: Could any assistants be on the chopping block?
Post by: ednksu on February 21, 2015, 08:23:49 PM
Did oscar ever do that at IU?  Could Currie say to him its time to make some changes?

Would it really matter? Yeah probably not, but it might make some of the tuck fans who are sick of the losing happy for a minute, like oscar is being proactive or something.

I don't know if I've ever heard of that happening in basketball.  There are no coordinators to fire.

It wouldn't make any difference, but I'm confident oscar will do whatever needs done to keep soaking up K-State gravy with his whitebread presense.

I remember the AD at the time forcing Altman to bring in a veteran ex-head coach at Navy with a supposed offensive mind. Closest thing I could think of. Currie could do something like that: Force one of the assistants out and make Weber hire someone "who can relate to college-age students." It would be kind of a no-confidence vote, which might piss Weber off enough to do the right thing.

Acts of a desperate man to save his job/face.

Also I don't think it would piss off chicken nuggets the same way it would piss off a "Frank".  chicken nuggets would probably agree.
