You meet the most interesting people Jerry, married five times, is on the way to California. He has dementia but still loves to objectify women.

I do rehab a second time on April 9th. I'm planning to make a movie of the journey. I last worked January 27th. Got arrested. Spent 8 days there. And all the time there Canary and my family fought for treatment. And I did the same when I got out. January 27th to April 9th is what people  that are mentally ill and addicted face. I'm going to film this month long journey. I'll publish it after treatment.

Good luck SdK, if the filming is something you think will help with your recovery, by all means go ahead with it. If it is something else, then focus on your recovery instead of a documentary.

Is there a reason you can't start your rehab sooner? This seems like a dangerous stretch of time...

SdK, stay away from rest areas; that where ppl get robbed and sometimes shot.  My brother was at one several years ago around Liberal, and while he was taking a fine crap, some guy came in the rest room and told a guy to give him his wallet.  The guy refused and a fight occurred.  In the hustle bustle, the guy pull out a 44 and shot the guy point blank in the chest.  Blood flowed in the stall my brother was in, while the robber ran out the rest room.  Never less to say, my brother didn't have any trouble finishing his crap; as it came out in thunder bolts.  He had his cell phone and called 911.  The cops came and interviewed my brother.  The guy was dead and they didn't catch the robber.  To this day, he will not stop at rest areas to do his business.

STAY SAFE YOUNG MAN!!!   :lynchmob:

He's been known to take this place personal (like trying to fight you for example).  If he truly wants to get better, he should put this place and other things that have not been positive for him in his past and move forward.

I think he enjoys this board and views it as a positive.  Most of his issues are when posting under the influence or when people are dicks to him despite knowing he is an addict.  If he wants to visit here he should.  If people are unable to forgive and forget knowing that it wasn't entirely his fault and continue to be dicks to him that is on them.

just an fyi, being a known addict isn't a reason for people to not be a dick to you on the internet. there are other reasons, but that's not one.

because you are a nice guy and being a dick to people isn't nice. because they are nice people and don't deserve being dick'd at. because they didn't do anything to deserve a dick'ing. you know, tons of normal reasons. if someone deserves to be on the receiving end of being a dick, them being an addict (or having any number of other issues) doesn't get them a get out of dick'ing free card.

Really, all of us should probably do more constructive things than waste time on gE. The only ones that benefit on gE are the mods/owners. Which is why Wacky wanted to hard to be an owner a few years ago. The owners are making bank and we are all just one step away from losing our jobs.
Crybaby.  :bawl:
I am still angling to buy this site, just trying to drive down the value.
First rule of sales... don't tell anyone your angle when negotiating.

I don't think he should ever read this blog again.

Why not?

He's been known to take this place personal (like trying to fight you for example).  If he truly wants to get better, he should put this place and other things that have not been positive for him in his past and move forward.
I think he enjoys this board and views it as a positive.  Most of his issues are when posting under the influence or when people are dicks to him despite knowing he is an addict.  If he wants to visit here he should.  If people are unable to forgive and forget knowing that it wasn't entirely his fault and continue to be dicks to him that is on them.

I completely disagree with meow meow, if he gets enjoyment from this place, and he clearly does, he should keep reading and posting. Now, I also completely disagree that people have been dicks to him knowing that he's struggling with substance abuse. I had issues with sdk, but we're way beyond them, we got over them before I knew he had these issues. When he comes back I think that people should be cognizant of his issues because he's been so open about them, but there shouldn't be different sets of rules for him. Everyone has bad days and if he gets on the wrong side of someone having a bad day they have the right to stand up for themselves.

off of soapbox

get well my dude

The bus system in Topeka is better than I expected. I always thought of it as for the poors. But upon riding it reminded me of being in NY and the subway and LIRR. Two things I love. Humbling but fun experience.

The buses all smell so brand new.

Update:

In a little under a year, I've went from being homeless, penniless, and jobless, to a job grossing around 42k a year. I have a plan to be debt free (save student loans) by the end of 2016 if not sooner. I'll be moving out of the Oxford house, that I became president of, this spring. I'll be able to afford a nice apartment, travel, and a comfortable life for a single lad. I thought of going into the military but instead will "sign" a two year commitment to this job for stability. I will then evaluate my life and see about getting that damned biochemistry degree.

Anywho, just wanted to update this thread with some happy. I plan to do that moving forward.

Love, support, courage, and humility got me here and will steady my path forward. Stay beautiful you guys.

So my run as president of the Oxford house has come to a close. I was a little blue about it so I wrote "the end of an era" on one of our dry erase boards last night and awoke to find this. It made me smile. It seems topical given the abortion thread. I do fight for the betterment of those around me. I am not great at it, but the past six months I have made this house a better place and improved it immensely. I'm proud of my footprint.

SDK, I have heard a few podcasts lately on certain addictions and treating them, what sounds extraordinarily successful, with Ibogane. Lots of treatment centers in Canada, mexico, and most of the world.  US still categorizes it as illegal, though.  The podcasts I have heard on it have info about single sessions resolving opiate or alcohol issues.  May google that or something if interested.

Also, therapeutic LSD.  Evidently the guy who invented AA was very into using LSD in a certain way to stop alcohol issues.  Before it became illegal here, it had something like a 55% success rate.  AA has something like a 5% success rate.

Just info, no judgement.  Feel free to ignore.

One of them.  Rogan has had a couple doctors on with the same type info.  It's intriguing.

Hang in there SDK.  The temptations can be extreme but just try and remember the road you took to get here.  Be thinking about ya man.

Guys, this isn't the end of any road or a depression post. Just a "SdK was dumb" post. I'm in good spirits, love life, and motivated to keep being successful. I just try to keep my personal posts to this thread as that is why I made it. If I'm completely honest, I ended my sobriety run 3 months ago. I'm just trucking along. Ups and downs. Ins and Outs. Life is as beautiful as we want it to be.

I meant my post as how it was before you cleaned up your life.  You don't want to go back to how it was before is all.  It's a struggle for a lot of people but just know you have support all around you.

Big day of talks with board members for me. I decided that all those that hide behind user names and say inflammatory crap are bad people. I'd like to end all of their collective throats. Place bets  and all money goes to the fatty fund. I'm thinking of FSD and trim. I'm open to others

I don't think I actually know who fsd is. I have no idea why he played along when I was being a crap bag about his personal life. Huge swing and miss for me.

Target DC is a lot better than Frito. I can't wait to go back. I will in a year if I don't find a better situation.

If anyone has leads on a job where I get to use my brain, let me know. I'll submit my resume. And I'm open to moving!

I had more to say but lost my train of thought.

What would you say your skillset is?

Have you ever considered work in the trades? It can be very lucrative and rewarding. You might have to move to a major city to really get going, but with a good work ethic and using your brain to spot innovation you could be a foreman making six figures in 4 or 5 years.

I'd consider anything. My job isn't really a big deal to me. I'd want one that I am good at and feel good about doing it well.

Skill set. I've worked construction, housekeeping, retail, and in warehouses. I was a lead at two of those. I'm great with people and finding ways to connect, I constantly think about what I'm doing and work to find ways to be more efficient, I am willing to work harder for the team, I'm mechanically and intellectually inclined. Basically I'm super versatile. And do all I can to succeed at work. Nothing is above or below me.
