There is a very very real possibility that this team is left out of the NIT.
-
I must be the biggest dip crap on the planet because I actually know I'll continue to watch this garbage team.
-

Good. This season just needs to end.
-
Remember when we were in 1st place in the Big 12? Good times.

You think this team is going to make the NIT?!?!?!
-
Don't you have to have a winning record to make the post season? I don't see how this team makes ANY post season, but especially not the NIT.
-

Yeah, at the rate we're going it'll be CBI.
-
:sdeek: :Yuck: :buh-bye: :flush: :bawl:
-
We won't go to the NIT. You have to be .500 and this team is on the road to being our first under .500 team since 2003.

This blog should be a Royals blog 24/7/365

Foster isn't coming back and we won't win a single game without him.

This team would have lost with Foster. :dubious:

It's embarrassing but some of us have been mentally preparing for a couple years now. :blindfold:

At least we might be able to participate in deciding the fate of some new rules.
Teams relegated to the NIT this season will have to play under experimental rules, including a 30-second shot clock and a 4-foot restricted area under the basket.
The NCAA says it is paring five seconds off the shot clock to see how it impacts pace and scoring totals. The arc is moving out a foot to examine how it changes the number of collisions under the basket by expanding the area in which charges usually cannot be drawn.
Coaches whose teams play in the tournament will be surveyed about their experience, and the men's basketball rules committee will look at all the data to consider future rule changes.

If that's not some impending adversity then I don't know what is.

Jesus the NCAA is stupid. Lets just give the defense steroids.

what? both of those are good changes that are long overdue.
-
I agree that more drives to the basket and more shots would be an improvement but definitely both changes are negatives for bruceketball - we can barely protect the rim now with the smaller charge circle and the offense has a hard enough time generating a good shot now.

In 93-94 when the shot clock went down to 35 from 45, points per possession went down .9. I would be afraid of ton of coaches going to a soft press and than only have to defend for around 22 seconds. I think it would make the game even uglier.

It's embarrassing but some of us have been mentally preparing for a couple years now. :blindfold:
Right? It's almost like there were signs years ago that this exact thing would happen.
-
"Teams relegated to the NIT this season..."
While most teams will be relegated to the NIT. KSU will be upgraded to the NIT :emawkid:

Remember when the majority of our fanbase called him "spoiled" and a "prima donna" after that? We're probably just getting what we deserve now.

Cats hosting South Carolina in the NIT is what i'm cheering for.

or hosting Nebraska.
-
We could host Tulsa and beat up on Frank Haith :dunno:

IDGAF about Haith, I want to host USCar or Nebraska or win the whole damn thing, those scenarios are the only way it would be "worth it" to me.

I'm cleaning up a shitload of open tabs and realized I looked these up months ago hoping to use them in a post to show the synergy between both oscar and the NIT not being good enough for Jake and that the NIT is good enough for oscar or both for K-State or whatever, but then we didn't make the NIT. :frown:
Maybe next year!
