see above for the good question and share your true answer.
-
You mean "set in"
-
hmmm
-
a better question is which city gets destroyed in movies the most.
-
Man, NY gets destroyed in a ton of movies.
-
Yeah, Hollywood gets lazy and stays in LA a lot.
-
LA is too spread out to get destroyed very often
-
if it's not set somewhere specific, it's in LA. with TV shows this is true of NY
-
canada
-
Louisiana

Is this for Ms. Hollins' class? I went with "How many average small intestines does it take to stretch around the circumference of the world?"
-
I always wished we had a sitcom for kc like Detroit had Home Improvement, Boston had Cheers, Cleveland had Drew Carey show, etc.

So he's based on Kevin Seitzer then

Little off topic but London/Britain also seems to be a hotbed of end of the world/major upheaval like movies (Children of Men, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, V for Vendetta, etc.)
-
on topic is all themes for each setting. Not just destruction.
-
Friends with Benefits too place in both, how do we categorize that?

There was a show called "Married to the Kelly's" that was set in KC. Breken Meyer was a lead character. It had a lot of local references.

i like the idea. except instead of a sitcom, make it a documentary.
now, i'm going to pretend you guys work for a production company- it doesn't matter which one- i'll pick High Noon Entertainment in Sherman Oaks and i'm going to pitch my show to you.
ok- it's a 30 minute documentary called "KC Sucks". each week documents another reason why KC sucks.
i'm asking for a 6 episode commitment, the general theme:
epi 1: why do so many people drive pick up trucks in this town?
epi 2: sunflower seeds and corn nuts, fine dining in kansas city.
epi 3: the weather.
epi 4: a cornucopia of strip malls, the kansas city connection.
epi 5: roads, is it possible to build too many? kansas city says no.
epi 6: kansas city's addiction to violent crime.
after the final rose episode, episode 7: the myth behind public schools and accreditation.
green light me. pls.

23 Thoughts on Destroying the City of Angels:
wrote Mike Davis in his indispensable L.A.-apocalypse treatise Ecology of Fear: Los Angeles and the Imagination of Disaster. “The obliteration of Los Angeles, by contrast, is often depicted as, or at least secretly experienced as, a victory for civilization.”
To put it in slasher-movie terms, L.A. is almost never the Final Girl; L.A. is the trashy girl who gets carved up early and has it coming, whether “it” is Skynet’s nukes or a tornado filled with sharks.
