Title: Skymall
Post by: GregKSU1027 on January 24, 2015, 07:23:03 AM
It's dead. Skymall is no longer. What are american's going to do on those transcontinental flights? After a 25 year run. Skymall is going out of business.

I read a big article about it, their "reasons for failure" perfectly describes how I felt about Sky Mall.

I myself haven't really read one in several years, though I fly a lot.  I used to look at them after I got done reading a newspaper, back before wifi on planes.  I do sometimes give them to my kids to thumb through, they love them (whale shaped boats and real Harry Potter wands and crap).  I look at my phone, PC, tablet, etc now.

But, in my many years of flying, I have never once bought a thing from them.

I bought a crap ton of those zombie statues that look like they're coming up from the ground. The neighbors love them.

I've been saying there gross margins were far too thin and their turn far too slow for years.

They should just publish the magazine just not actually sell anything and have ads. I am available for CEO

It looks like their website is still going to be in business, so if you feel nostalgic on a flight with WIFI, you will be able to peruse skymall.com!

Yeah, they should publish a magazine that's a parody of what they used to do. Like, make the fake products absolutely absurd. They've been a joke forever, they just need to embrace that.
